Description

Spanning from the ivy-clad walls of Camlorn to the wind-lashed cliffs of the Azurian Sea, the Varonthil Weald is a coastal woodland of striking contrasts and deep-rooted enigma. It rolls across low headlands and gullied ravines, where evergreen junipers and blueleaf ash twist in the salt-laden breeze. Here, the land shifts from soft loam to shale ridges, with gullies carved by centuries of storm runoff and hidden by thick curtains of bramble and fern. Though close to Camlorn’s bustling harbor, the Weald is notably quiet—its silence broken only by gull cries, the snap of branches in the wind, and the low, mournful hoot of the coastal stryx. The forest's outer edges are frequented by hunters and foragers gathering coastal herbs and white-trunked sunroot, but few venture far inland past the mossy trails that wind toward the cliffs of Azur's Reach.
