Description

To the northeast of Camlorn, where the Cambary Hills slope down into fertile glens and cool brooks fed by the Diren watershed, lies Tarnhem Grove—a forest of silver-barked elms, moor-maples, and veilpine, shrouded in a near-perpetual twilight beneath its dense canopy. The ground is soft with leafmould and wild myrtle, giving off the scent of sweet rot and spring rain. Long considered a borderland between the city’s holdings and the deeper reaches of Daenia, the Grove has borne witness to quiet druidic rites and bloodier histories alike. In contrast to the wilder Varonthil Weald or the haunted Harthwood, Tarnhem Grove holds a serene, somber beauty. The trees grow in gentle arcs as though shaped by wind and reverence, and winding root-paths connect shallow clearings often marked by old stone circles or runic menhirs of pre-Direnni make.
