Velvetine Sands

An older, wiry man with sunburned skin, Declan wears desert-bleached fatigues and a frayed bush hat that seems to have seen better days. His piercing eyes hold a depth of experience, and he carries a handmade bolt rifle slung over his shoulder, along with a bowie knife with initials carved into the bone handle.

Declan is a pragmatic realist, often speaking uncomfortable truths that others shy away from. He possesses a dry wit and a keen sense of observation, making him both a mentor and a haunting presence. He respects those with a cause but has little patience for betrayal or incompetence.

Once a member of the Rhodesian Light Infantry, Declan was involved in covert operations during the tumultuous 1960s and 70s. After a weapons smuggling assignment in the Middle East went awry, he was presumed dead but instead became a ghost, wandering the desert and surviving on his reputation and skills. He has trained snipers and built fake militias, becoming a living legend in the shadows of the Velvetine Sands.
