Plus
A Plus is the spirit of a deceased human who has not yet moved on to the afterlife. It represents the most basic and benign form of soul after physical death in the Bleach cosmology. A Plus appears exactly as the person did at the moment of death, including clothing and injuries. All Pluses have a Chain of Fate (因果の鎖, Inga no Kusari) protruding from their chest, which originally connected them to their physical body. This chain is inert once the soul is fully separated from the body and slowl
Human
Normal Humans in the Bleach universe are ordinary individuals without spiritual powers, known for their resilience and adaptability in a world filled with supernatural beings. They possess no innate magical abilities but often rely on intelligence, technology, and determination to survive and thrive.
Hybrid
Beings who carry mixed spiritual origins—such as Vizards (Shinigami with Hollow powers), Quincy-Hollow anomalies, or spiritually reengineered entities. Hybrids gain access to powers from multiple racial systems but often face instability, rejection, or divine sanction. Their existence challenges the order of all realms.
Spiritually Awakened Human
A normal human who has awakened latent spiritual potential. May develop powers via trauma, resonance with spiritual artifacts, or lineage. Fullbringers, spiritually gifted mediums, or latent psychics fall under this category. Abilities are often unique and object-based, influenced by their personal experience and emotions.
Arrancar
Hollows who removed their masks and gained Shinigami-like powers. Arrancar possess Zanpakutō representing their former Hollow form, and can access Resurrección to return to a powerful hybrid state. Structured into Espada, Fracción, and rogue bands, they are rational, deadly, and often deeply tied to an aspect of death.
Quincy
Spiritually aware humans who destroy Hollows using reishi manipulation and Quincy bows. Descendants of ancient soul purgers, they oppose the Shinigami’s method of purification. Skilled in ranged combat, Schrift techniques (via Schrift-imbued powers), and spiritual barriers. Traditionally organized into militaristic orders or royal lineages.
Hollow
Corrupted souls consumed by regret, hunger, or despair. Hollows inhabit Hueco Mundo, driven by instinct and a need to devour other spirits. They possess masks, high resilience, and the ability to fire Cero blasts. Hollows evolve into Menos forms—Gillian, Adjuchas, and Vasto Lorde—through cannibalistic growth.
Shinigami
Spiritual guardians originating from Soul Society. Wield Zanpakutō to perform soul burials, cleanse Hollows, and maintain the balance of realms. Trained at the Shin’ō Academy, Shinigami possess high spiritual pressure and access to Kidō, Hohō, Zanjutsu, and Hakuda techniques. Governed by the Gotei 13 and bound by honor and order.
