Wild West: Outlaws

The Wild West, also known as the American frontier or the Old West, is a term that encompasses the history, culture, folklore, and geography of American expansion in North America. 1860sThe era was characterized by lawlessness, violence, hardship, and the clash of old and new: Lawlessness: The untamed territories west of the Mississippi River had no real judicial system, and disputes were often resolved by deadly force. Violence: The great migration and expansion of the era triggered violence. Hardship: Wages were low and there was no structured law system. Clash of old and new: The era was marked by the arrival of European settlers from the Atlantic coast, as well as the emergence of cowboys, outlaws, pioneers, gunslingers, gunfights, and bank robberies.
