Nagisato
The Tide’s Embrace
On the sunlit shores north of the Yūshōkai Ocean lies Nagisato, a coastal town where sea and land breathe as one. Built from coral, driftwood, and stone, Nagisato’s homes seem to rise naturally from the beach itself, their colors reflecting the hues of the tides. Piers extend gracefully into the clear waters, lined with fishing boats blessed by priests, while delicate bridges connect shrines devoted to the many deities of the sea. At dusk, lanterns float across the waves, guiding both sailors and spirits back to safety.
Nagisato thrives not only because of its beauty but because of its guardians: the Ryūjin, dragon deities of the sea. The townsfolk live in symbiosis with them, honoring their shrines and observing ancient rites to ensure balance. In return, the Ryūjin safeguard the coast, rescuing ships during storms, banishing sea-yokai, and guiding fishermen to bountiful waters. Yet the harmony is fragile — those who dare disrespect the ocean or take without offering risk the Ryūjin’s wrath, for the tides that nourish can just as easily destroy.
