Description

The Root Weaver is a massive, terrifying arachnid-like creature that dwells deep within the heart of the Great Deku Tree. This creature is a twisted fusion of ancient roots and a monstrous spider, with its body and legs seemingly composed of gnarled wood, tangled vines, and sharp thorns. The Root Weaver has a large, bulbous abdomen that pulses with a sickly green glow, signifying the corruption it has spread throughout the tree.

Actions

Corruption Pulse (Recharge 5-6)

The Root Weaver emits a burst of green energy in a 15-foot radius. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 4d8 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Mandible Bite

The Root Weaver makes a bite attack with its powerful mandibles. On a hit, it deals 2d10 + 5 piercing damage plus 1d8 poison damage.

Tangle Vines

The Root Weaver summons vines from its surroundings to ensnare a target within 30 feet. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or become restrained for 1 minute. They can use their action to make a Strength check against the DC to break free.

Weak Spot Exposure

When the Root Weaver is attacked and its weak spot is exposed, it takes double damage from attacks targeting its underbelly until the start of its next turn.
