The Exodar

Origins: The Flight from Argus and Oshu'gun

The @Exodar is the official faction name for the deeply spiritual, technologically advanced @Draenei survivors who rally around their majestic, crystalline capital ship of the same name. The deep history of this people twenty-five thousand years to the utopian world of Argus. When the supreme leaders of the eredar race—Archimonde and Kil'jaeden—voted to join the @Burning Legion in exchange for dark cosmic power, the third leader, the Prophet @Velen, refused. Guided by a prophetic vision of the Light and aided by the Naaru—godlike entities of pure holy energy- @Velen gathered his loyal followers and fled Argus aboard a crystalline vessel, christening his people the @Draenei, which translates to "Exiled Ones" in their native tongue.

For millennia, the @Draenei traversed the cosmos, pursued relentlessly across the stars by Kil'jaeden’s demonic fleets. They eventually settled on a remote, peaceful world they named Draenor. For generations, they coexisted peacefully alongside the native @Orc clans, centering their civilization around @Shattrath City and the holy mausoleum of Auchindoun. However, the @Burning Legion eventually discovered their sanctuary. Kil'jaeden manipulated and corrupted the @Orc people into a bloodthirsty Horde, who initiated a systematic, brutal genocide against the @Draenei, slaughtering nearly eighty percent of their entire population.

The Naaru and the Dimensional Ship

Following the cataclysmic destruction of Draenor—which tore the planet apart into the floating remnants known as @Outland—the surviving @Draenei under @Velen hid within the swamps of Zangarmarsh. Their salvation arrived when the Naaru deployed a magnificent, world-traveling dimensional fortress known as @Tempest Keep to @Outland to assist the survivors.

However, the fortress was swiftly ambushed and seized by the @Blood Elf forces of Prince @Kael'thas Sunstrider, who sought to siphon its immense arcane energies for his own ends. Recognizing that @Outland was entirely lost to demonic corruption, @Velen led a desperate, coordinated guerrilla strike on @Tempest Keep. A vanguard of brave @Draeneisuccessfully infiltrated one of the keep's massive satellite structures—a colossal, crystalline dimensional vessel named @The Exodar. They seized control of its navigation systems and ripped through the fabric of reality, attempting to teleport the ship to a safe, uncorrupted world.

The Crash on Azuremyst Isle

The flight of @The Exodar was sabotaged from the absolute beginning. A contingent of @Kael'thas Sunstrider @Blood Elf saboteurs had managed to sneak aboard the vessel prior to its departure, systematically crippling its trans-dimensional engines and magical stabilizers mid-teleport. When the ship tore through the sky of Azeroth, it completely lost guidance control, hurtling catastrophically through the atmosphere before impacting violently on the northwestern coast of @Kalimdor.

The ship broke apart into massive, glowing crystalline shards, which rained down across a pair of pristine, mist-shrouded islands known as Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isle. The sheer force of the impact caused the ship’s volatile, hyper-advanced eco-systems and arcane reactors to rupture. Radiation from the leaking crystalline technology began fundamentally warping the local wildlife, mutating the native flora and driving the peaceful furbolg tribes into frenzied madness.

Worse still, the surviving blood elf saboteurs established military camps across the islands, using the wreckage to build communication beacons to summon the @Burning Legion directly to Azeroth’s doorstep.

The Reconstruction of the Capital and Joining the Alliance

Emerging from the smoking ruins of their vessel, the surviving @Draenei immediately set to work stabilizing their new home. Under the calm guidance of Prophet @Velen, they used their profound engineering skills to transform the largest, mostly intact central hull of the crashed dimensional ship into a breathtaking, fully functional subterranean capital city, retaining the name @The Exodar.

The city became a marvel of glowing purple crystals, winding holographic walkways, and grand, architectural chambers dedicated to both advanced technology and holy worship. It was divided into distinct, meticulously organized sectors:

  • The Seat of the Naaru: The central core of the ship, housing the dying, heroic Naaru named O'ros, who sacrificed much of his energy to cushion the ship’s crash and save the survivors.

  • The Trader's Tier: A bustling hub where @Draenei craftsmen refined jewelcrafting—a trade they brought to Azeroth—and technological components.

  • The Vault of Lights: The spiritual and educational heart of the city, where anchorites and magi kept records of their ancient history.

Recognizing the sudden arrival of an advanced, demon-hunting race on @Kalimdor, the @Kaldorei of Teldrassil quickly dispatched scouts to investigate. Upon realizing that the @Draenei were fierce, unyielding enemies of the @Burning Legion and devout followers of the Holy Light, the Alliance enthusiastically welcomed the @Exodar faction into their ranks. The @Draenei provided the Alliance with an invaluable geopolitical foothold in northern @Kalimdor, directly counterbalancing the Horde's presence in neighboring @Durotar.

The Northrend Campaign and the Sunwell

In response to Scourge incursions, the @Exodar established the Hand of Argus, an elite military order of heavily armored paladins—known as Vindicators—who deployed to the frontlines of @Northrend. Operating heavily out of the Borean Tundra and the Dragonblight, these holy warriors utilized advanced @Draenei crystalline technology to fortify Alliance bases and cleanse areas corrupted by the @Scourge plague.
