A Traveler’s Guide to the Major Cities

Adlanthea’s great cities are connected by rail, airship routes, trade roads, and political rivalry. Each has its own character, dangers, and influence over the continent.

Crownspire is the capital and the beating heart of Adlanthean politics, wealth, and high society. Ancient noble houses share the skyline with rail terminals, airship docks, theaters, factories, and aether laboratories. Its streets are polished above and predatory below, making it a city where reputation can be as dangerous as any weapon.

Emberholt is the industrial furnace of Adlanthea. Foundries, railworks, weapons factories, and aether refineries dominate the city, feeding the continent’s hunger for machinery. The Brass Consortium holds enormous influence here, and the orange glow of its furnaces rarely disappears from the sky.

Vespera is a city of scholarship, culture, fashion, and secrets. Universities, salons, theaters, occult societies, and old estates line its river districts. The Aetheric Collegium maintains a strong presence, though private research circles often operate beyond its oversight.

Aerwyn Reach rises across cliffs, suspended platforms, and skybridges. It is one of Adlanthea’s greatest centers of airship construction and aerial trade. Pilots, couriers, smugglers, merchants, and explorers fill its docking districts, and the Free Skies maintain deep roots throughout the city.

Mourningvale is an old gothic city known for cemeteries, cathedrals, medicine, spiritualism, and the study of death. Its fog-draped streets attract physicians, occult scholars, grieving families, and those who are perhaps a little too interested in what happens after the grave.

Ironveil stands as a fortified northern stronghold. Military academies, armored rail depots, foundries, defensive walls, and Ironwatch installations dominate the city. It protects vital trade routes and serves as one of Adlanthea’s strongest defenses against threats from beyond settled territory.

Together, these cities represent the competing faces of modern Adlanthea: nobility, industry, scholarship, freedom, death, and military order.

And every one of them believes it understands the future better than the others.
