The Crimson Knight’s Refrain

(Often played with a slow drum and a single flute)

Where the green fields burned and the skylarks fled,
She stood knee-deep in the quiet dead.
A girl made steel by the grief she bore—
Crimson cloak stained forevermore.

She walks the tower step by step,
Her sword remembers all she kept.
Yet though her heart may splinter thin,
Her will is stone. She does not bend.

Raise your cups for the ones who stand
When gods are gone and hope is sand.
