Season 3

Season Overview

The season follows the family as they adjust to Jerry and Beth's separation. Rick’s influence over the family begins to wane as Beth, Morty, and Summer grow more assertive. This season is also notable for introducing some of the series' most legendary moments, like "Pickle Rick" and the rise of Evil Morty. [1, 2, 3]

Ep 2. Rickmancing the Stone: To cope with the divorce, Rick, Morty, and Summer go on a Mad Max-style adventure in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Ep 3. Pickle Rick: Rick turns himself into a pickle to avoid family therapy, leading to an ultra-violent survival mission in a sewer and an embassy.

Ep 4. Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender: A blackout-drunk Rick sets up Saw-like traps for a team of superheroes to prove how much they "suck".

Ep 5. The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy: Rick takes Jerry to an invincibility resort to boost his confidence, but they end up in an assassination plot.

Ep 6. Rest and Ricklaxation: At an alien spa, Rick and Morty's "toxic" personality traits are physically removed, leading to a war between their "healthy" and "toxic" selves.

Ep 7. The Ricklantis Mixup: While the main duo visits Atlantis off-screen, the episode follows the complex, dark politics of the rebuilt Citadel of Ricks.

Ep 8. Morty's Mind Blowers: Replacing "Interdimensional Cable," this anthology shows memories Rick erased from Morty’s mind because they were too traumatic or embarrassing.

Ep 9. The ABC's of Beth: Rick takes Beth to "Froopyland," a fantasy world he built for her as a child, while she wonders if she should be replaced by a clone.

Ep 10. The Rickchurian Mortydate: Rick goes to war with the President over a selfie, while Beth and Jerry reconcile, stripping Rick of his "patriarch" status.

Season Finale & Impact

The season ends with the Smith family reuniting and standing up to Rick. Beth decides to take Jerry back, and for the first time, Rick finds himself at the bottom of the family hierarchy. One of the biggest lingering mysteries of the season is whether the Beth who stayed is the original or a clone. [1, 2, 3, 4]
