Season Overview
The season starts with the Smith family grounded in their original dimensions, forcing Rick to confront his past and the man who truly ruined his life: Rick Prime. For much of the season, portal travel is broken, leading to more "grounded" stories on Earth before Rick eventually fixes it mid-season. Character growth is a major theme, particularly for Jerry, who gains more respect within the family. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Season Finale & The Hunt for Rick Prime [1]
The finale delivers a massive twist: the Rick who had been showing emotional growth and kindness for the last few episodes was actually a robot. The real Rick has spent his time in a secret lab tracking Rick Prime. The season ends with Rick showing Morty that he has found a way to track his nemesis, though the device shows Rick Prime appearing in hundreds of locations simultaneously. Rick officially recruits Morty for a dark, singular mission to find and kill him in Season 7.
