The Void

🌌 The Void: Oblivion and the Infinite Maw

The Void, known alternatively as The Abyss or Oblivion, is not merely a plane but the very space between existence—a boundless, eternal domain existing outside the constraints of conventional space and time. It is the antithesis of all life and order, a realm of ultimate nothingness, eldritch horrors, and perpetual nightmares.

The Nature of Oblivion

The Void is the ultimate cosmic horror; a dimension so fundamentally alien that mortal minds cannot process its reality. It is an endless expanse of non-existence where the laws of nature break down and sanity dissolves. It is widely said that even a momentary glimpse into its depths is enough to irrevocably drive a mortal observer into madness. Its purpose is singular: to corrupt, assimilate, and ultimately destroy all life in the multiverse, returning all creation to the original state of oblivion.

The Infinite Maw: The Eternal God

At the heart of the Void lies The Infinite Maw, the primordial eldritch god and the ultimate source of all corruption. Existing before the dawn of time, before the first stars ignited, The Infinite Maw is quite literally the Void itself—a consciousness spanning eternity. All eldritch beings, including those that launched the Cataclysm against Arcadia, are extensions of this entity, linked through a shared hive mind.

The Four Aspects of the Maw

To interface with and execute its terrifying will, The Infinite Maw manifests through four distinct physical and conceptual aspects. Though each aspect possesses its own unique personality and localized desires, they are all irrevocably linked to the hive mind, sharing the supreme goal of extinguishing existence.

These four fundamental aspects are:

  • Corruption: The aspect dedicated to twisting and defiling life, making it suitable for assimilation.

  • Assimilation: The aspect focused on absorbing all knowledge, matter, and energy into the Void's endless mass.

  • Destruction: The violent aspect dedicated to the physical annihilation of organized existence.

  • Darkness: The aspect embodying the absolute, primordial night that existed before creation.

These four aspects exist concurrently, working in concert to ensure that the will of The Infinite Maw is realized: the complete consumption of the multiverse and its return to pre-creation nothingness.
