Factions: Part 1

The Three Kingdoms

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura features several political entities, including the three major @Human kingdoms:

  • The @The Unified Kingdom

    • @Unified Kingdom is a technologically advanced, oligarchic state that is rapidly industrializing, with its capital in @Tarant and a significant presence in @Ashbury 123.

  • @The @The Kingdom of Cumbria

    • @Kingdom of Cumbria is in decline, ruled by an aging king, and officially bans technology, although its port city of @Dernholm connections with @Unified Kingdom.

  • The @The Kingdom of Arland

    • @Kingdom of Arland is the oldest country in the world of @Arcanum , a @Human monarchy that freely practices both magic and technology, and is located west of the @Stonewall Range. It's capital city is the port city of @Caladon.

The Dwarvern Clans (@Dwarf)

There are four known @Dwarf Clans in the realm of @Arcanum.

  • The @Wheel Clan

    • The @Wheel Clan is the largest and most important Dwarven (@Dwarf) community on the continent of @Arcanum, serving as its secular, religious, and cultural capital. Their settlement (@Wheel Clan) is located midway along the southern slope of the @Grey Mountains.

  • The @Stonecutter Clan

    • The Stonecutter Clan is a dwarven settlement located in the @Stonecutter Clan.

  • The @Black Mountain Clan

    • The @Black Mountain Clan is a Dwarven community located on the eastern slope of the @Stonewall Range, near the town of @Stillwater. It is usually marked on maps as simply, @Black Mountain Mines.

  • @The Iron Clan

    • @The Iron Clan is a mysterious and ancient group of dwarven (@Dwarf) artisans and engineers in the world of @Arcanum, known for creating wonders unmatched in the world. It is unknown if there are any left in the realm of @Arcanum or where their settlement was once located.

Note: 'Stone and Shape' is a Dwarven (@Dwarf) philosophy that defines their morality, shared across the @Dwarf clans. It requires an Intelligence of 10 to understand, and it can be explained to the player by @Randver Thunder Stone. It is a key to recruiting @Loghaire Thunder Stone if fully grasped by the player.
