Bojangles is Mother Dearestās loyal bulldog, a squat, broadāchested creature who has survived the wastes by her side longer than any human companion ever could. Though unmistakably canine in form, there is something subtly off about himāhis eyes linger too long on empty corners, his ears prick at sounds no one else hears, and his low growl often precedes the arrival of things better left unseen. Found wandering near the crater where the Fallen House first appeared, he attached himself to Mother Dearest with unwavering devotion, as though recognizing a kindred soul marked by cosmic tragedy.
Despite his gruff exterior, Bojangles is fiercely protective, placing himself between travellers and the horrors of the wastes with fearless resolve. Strange sigils stitched into his collar glow faintly when danger approaches, and some swear theyāve seen his shadow move independently in moments of tension. To Mother Dearest, he is more than a petāhe is an anchor, a guardian, and perhaps the last living creature she trusts without hesitation.
Mother Dearest knows Bojangles will be able to track her child if he can only get close enough to pick up the trail. Because of this, she may be willing to give him to a traveller who agrees to help in the search for her son.
