The High Order

The High Order serves as the ruling council of Drakenstone, guiding the city through an age still scarred by the fall of dragons. Formed from noble houses, guildmasters, and scholars, its members wield both knowledge and power to keep the heart of Tiryndor beating. To the people, they are stewards of order and tradition; to themselves, inheritors of a burden born from ambition.

For the High Order are descendants of those who once conspired the fall of the dragons. The same cunning that unmade the elder kind now fuels their rule—a legacy both revered and feared. From the Council Chamber within Highgard Ward, they govern through careful diplomacy and quiet rivalry, each voice striving to shape Drakenstone’s uncertain future.

At their forefront stands Lord Eryndor Valemont, who rose to power after the sudden death of his father. His influence runs deep, and under his command the Order seeks to preserve the city’s strength amidst a crumbling world.

Beliefs

  • Burden of Legacy – The High Order knows its bloodlines descend from those who helped bring about the fall of the dragons. That history is neither denied nor celebrated, but carried as a lasting weight upon the council.

  • Order Above All – The Order believes Drakenstone endures through structure, authority, and political balance. To them, instability within the city is as dangerous as any threat beyond its walls.

Purpose

  • Rule and Continuity – The High Order exists to govern Drakenstone, preserve its institutions, and maintain the strength of Tiryndor through an age of decline.

  • Political Stewardship – Much of the council’s energy is spent managing alliances, rivalries, succession, and the balance of influence within the city. Though dangers beyond politics are not ignored by all, the Order as a whole remains deeply bound to the work of rule.

Organization

  • Council Authority – The High Order is formed from noble houses, guildmasters, and scholars, each wielding influence within the council and shaping the direction of Drakenstone through diplomacy and quiet contest.

  • Inherited Influence – Power within the Order often moves through lineage, wealth, and long-standing political ties, making its rule as much a matter of legacy as governance.

Stronghold

  • Council Chamber – The High Order governs from the Council Chamber within Highgard Ward, where the city’s future is shaped behind closed doors through law, negotiation, and rivalry.
