Dumal Tradeport and Characters
Rockshell Beach
Rockshell Beach is a busy shipyard near the Dumal Tradeport. Pirate ships, galleons, and merchants frequent this place as a rendezvous point for stops along long journeys at sea. Several infamous pirate crews gather here to plan their future voyages, restock on supplies, and recruit new members for their crews. And fishermen take to the waters for the bountiful amount of oceanic species they catch daily for food to sell.
Dumal Tradeport
Dumal Tradeport is a bustling merchant town constructed on an island in the Dumal Archipelago. Pirates and merchant sailors alike gather here to buy and trade goods and supplies for their travels. Seafarers of many races such as goblins, humans, kobolds, orcs, etc can be found in congregation here.
Characters
Aella
Aella is lean and wiry with blue sun-darkened skin. Her black hair is a mass of tight curls, pulled back in a messy bun. Amber eyes constantly scan her surroundings. She wears practical, dark clothing for mobility and a well-used brass compass on a chain, a family heirloom from before the world shattered. Etched leather bracers show subtle, swirling patterns, a nod to her Merfolk/Haitian and Vietnamese heritages.
Aella's family has lived in the Dumal Archipelago for generations, where the rise of a powerful colonial authority threatens their way of life. Aella's sister was arrested by the colonial power, sparking Aella's burning hatred. She joined a resistance movement called the "Shattered Sails" to fight back, earning the name "The Whisper."
Xylia
Xylia is a merfolk with a sleek, agile build and scales of deep, shimmering turquoise. Her long, dark hair floats around her in the water like ink. Her eyes are a striking silver, and she wears a small harness of leather that holds her gear. Unlike the others of her clan, she has a few scars on her tail, a sign of her dangerous missions to the surface world.
Xylia was born with an insatiable curiosity for the surface world, a place her people feared after the world shattered. When the Void Corruption began to taint her home, she swore an oath to find a cure. She is the first merfolk to make regular contact with humans, acting as a scout for the Deepwater Covenant. Her missions often put her in great danger as she tries to find out what it is about the human world that provides a cure for her people.

Anchovy
Anchovy is a red skinned goblin from the Nagili clan with salmon colored hair on his body, and long black hair braided back into a single long braid. He stands at 3ft 8inches with a slender frame, and one of his long pointy ears is cut short, a chunk of the ear missing from a battle long ago. His face is scarred from close calls in combat. He wears pirate clothes and has two sabres sheathed in an x on his back. Black boots with a red trim complete Anchovy's attire.
Anchovy is the twin brother of his sister, Sardine, both hailing from the Nagili clan. They began their life on a smaller island in the Dumal Archipelago, facing dangers such as pirate raids, goblin hunting parties, and starvation.
Sardine and Anchovy were discovered one day by Oscar, who emphasized with the two who were locked in destitution. They became the first two to join Oscar in his new ensemble of goblin buccaneers.
Bass
Bass is a stout fat goblin from the Drazzan clan with black skin and long black hair that covers most of his body like a chimpanzee. He is often smoking thick cigars he rolls himself and wears pirate clothes. A white shirt and a dark green kilt. A leather sash across his blubbery chest is adorned with a small telescope, a large coin purse, and a couple daggers. He carries a wide short sword in battle.
Bass is the Son of a minorly successful goblin aristocrat that lived in the Republic of Dumal. Raised in comfort, Bass grew accustomed to comforts provided by his family's lifestyle and delighted in lazing about in lieu of his apparent responsibilities.Bass wanted nothing to do with politics or his family legacy because he saw the corruption in the people his father dealt with on a daily basis. Bass's father often pressured him into being more involved in his role within the hierarchy, soon causing Bass to half ass his job with no way to change his fate. Bass fled his old life and ended up aboard a pirate ship. Invoking the ire of the crew aboard, Bass feared his new life was over until unexpectedly an old green goblin halted his crewmates from their assault on Bass. Stunned yet relieved, Bass was met with a choice by the Captain. Join his crew for the rest of his life or accept death as a sharkbait bouy at sea. Bass looked over to the goblin he learned was named Salmon, and accepted.
Oscar
Oscar is a goblin from the Drazzan clan who stands at two foot four inches. He has black skin and fuzzy black hair covering most of his body. He wears pirate attire and a leather sash belt that holds a aerated short sword. Thick leather boots and shiny jewelery complete the outfit. Even used as beads for his short dreadlocked hair. A vicious and determined gaze decorates his face and sharp fangs reveal themselves behind his smile.
Oscar was born on the island Republic of the Dumal Archipelago. A major city that sprawls out across a large island land mass. Here, the Government that oversees the Dumal Archipelago makes it's base of operations. Oscar was once a youngling wandering the Republic of Dumal when he was accidentally sealed up in a food crate waiting to be loaded on a local human pirate ship. When the human pirates found him, they saw him as a pest at first. When they attempted to capture Oscar, he fought back bravely and with such furosity the captain of that ship laughed and decided to make him part of their crew. Years later Oscar became the captain of a small crew of goblins he recruited around Dumal.
Ray
Ray is a short curvy green skinned female goblin from the Gorak clan. Her brown hair is worn in cornrow braids that are braided into long braids that dangle down below her chest. These braided are fixed with gold beads and jewelry. She wears pirate clothes with a cloth apron overtop. Various knives are kept in the apron's front pocket and she walks around in brown leather boots. She fights with a big meat cleaver she keeps in the ships kitchen where she carries out her duties as the chef of Oscars pirate crew.
Ray grew up in Ragiid. A land where food is scarce and safety is uncertain day by day. As a youngling she was captured and taken as a servant on a privateer ship. She expected to face torture and abuse from her captives but instead they put her to work in the ships kitchen. Starting with simple tasks like peeling potatoes to eventually more difficult tasks such as learning to cook different kinds of food for the crews mealtimes. One day the Privateers left her stranded at the Dumal Tradeport, where she became acquainted with Oscar and his crew when Bass smelled the meal she began to cook as she decided what to do. For Ray, no convincing was needed for her to decide to become the chef and final member of Oscar's crew.
Salmon
Salmon threw his net at Oscar in the fight only to be surprised by Oscars agile mobility saving him from capture. This caused him to engage Oscar in combat. Victorious, Oscar did not kill Salmon, but managed to bind him to the mast of his ship before leaping back aboard the ship of Salmon's crew to engage in combat with the enemy Captain.
Bass boarded Oscar's ship soon after as Oscar and his men were occupied by the battle. As quickly as Bass could manage to untie Oscars knotwork, Oscar and his crewmates had reboarded the vessel with their prize.They promptly disengaged and sailed away with Bass and Salmon aboard.
Sardine
Sardine is a female red skinned goblin from the Nagili clan with black hair braided in long French braids and she stands at about 3ft 8in. She has a slender frame and wears male pirate clothes with black boots and a brown jacket overtop a belt and sash. The belt holds a small crossbow that hangs at her side, and the sash is adorned with vials of slick oil and several daggers. In her right hand she wields a rapier with a golden inlaid hand gaurd.

Sturgeon
Sturgeon is a white skinned Goblin from the Noctura clan. He stands about six feet and has lanky arms and short muscular legs. His long ears are like funnels that pick up even the quietest sounds around him, without the ability to see this is how Sturgeon compensates. Enabling him to see with sound. Sturgeon goes shirtless and barefoot only wearing baggy pants and a leather belt. A rope with a grappling hook lies draped around his chest and he fights with a scimitar as his primary weapon.
Sturgeon is from the Noctura clan of goblins who've evolved sonar hearing to compensate for the eyesight they lost due to adapting to the pitch black of the cave systems in their mountain homes. Normally Noctura do not venture into the outside world but that changed for Sturgeon one day when he ventured outside the tunnels attempting to locate a strange noise he heard. It wasn't long before Sturgeons lack of sight led him to fall down a steep hole in the ground he couldn't climb out of. Sturgeon stayed there for three days before Oscar and his crew of four goblin crewmates found him on accident. After a good long laugh at the trouble Sturgeon had literally walked into, Oscar and his crew fished him out of the hole and advised him to join their crew if he wanted to survive. Three years later, Sturgeon serves as the lead sail maintainer and lookout in the crows nest of Oscars pirate crew.
