Siren Isle & Characters

Siren Isle

The merfolk of Siren Isle are the guardians of the north. Fiercely territorial and aggressive, they believe the world must be protected from human encroachment at all costs. They use their siren song to lure sailors to their deaths, not out of malice but as a ritualistic defense. Their connection to Governor Finch is a strained, transactional one. Governor Remus Finch

Governer Remus Finch is a short but athletic looking man with long ringlet curly brown hair a horseshoe mustache and a scruffy half grown in goatee. He has light skin and squinty dove eyes and a couple teeth are missing from his tea stained smile. He looks meek in appearance, boisterous in expression, and is often drunk, clutching a half finished bottle of rum in one hand at any given moment. He wields a rapier as his weapon in battle and plays a lyre when entertaining common folk. He dresses like if a pirate were a rich aristocrat and dons a red hooded cloak over his shoulders.

Remus Finch grew up in the world of the Republic's minor aristocracy. Always overshadowed by more prominent families, he learned early that true power wasn't about birthright, but about perceived influence and a well-placed smile. Beneath his affable exterior, however, simmered a profound ambition and a deep-seated resentment towards those he felt kept him from his rightful place.

When he was assigned Siren Isle, a barren sandbar fit only for merfolk and forgotten sailors, Finch didn't see a duty; he saw a calculated insult. It was a clear message that the other governors viewed him as inconsequential, a disposable figurehead for an insignificant post. This perceived humiliation ignited a quiet, burning fuse. Now, Siren Isle is not a punishment, but a hidden arsenal & the stage for his revenge. His ultimate goal is to see the entire Dumal colonization unravel, paving the way for him to seize control of the archipelago, proving his cunning superiority to those who dared to dismiss him.
