Vissara and Locations

Vissara

Vissara is a lush continent filled with dense forests and jungles. Long ago, Vissara was the birthplace of many of the monster races of the world. Goblins, trolls, giants, ogres and orcs, sprites and elves, dwarves and gnomes, as well as kobold and lizard folk. Overtime these races made their ways across Attilos to every continent and island. For those among these races not born on Vissara, an overwhelming presence can be felt as they sink to their knees, feeling as if they finally found their way home. A place they have never been yet feels so familiar to them. Vissara is the ancestral home of the monster races of Attilos.

Vak'Dura Mountain

Vak'Dura mountain is home to the Giants that inhabit Vissara. Here, a colossal fortress carved from the peaks of this mountain appear to stretch toward the skies, and the clouds above float below the tops of the castle towers. Castle Vak'Dura was built as a place for Giants to rest for as long as they wanted.

At night large brazzers illuminate the paths that travel from the foot of Vak'Dura to the castle above.

Castle VaK'Dura

A gargantuan castle built on a mountaintop meant for giants to live in. Large brazzers of flame illuminate the paths up the mountain at night, and large stone steps lead to the entrance of the castle at the top.

Castle Vak'Dura is a mighty stronghold built to house the giants of Vak'Dura Mountain long ago. Untouched by humans for ages, Castle Vak'Dura transformed into the legend of what you will find if you venture to Vissara. Tales of ferocious living mountains that walk the earth so large they could possibly take a hike across the ocean into Ahnekis if they wanted to. Or at least thats what the humans of Ahnekis believe.

The reality is if you were to find yourself wandering the halls of Castle Vak'Dura, you'll discover that there is only one Giant left in the castle. Her name is Lady Ivanna. The caretaker of Castle Vak'Dura and ruler of the Vak'Dura Mountains.

The Great Hovel

The Great Hovel is a massive goblin lair that is essentially fallen trees that frame a great hole in the side of a mountain in the forest. This enormous goblin burrough leads deep into a mountain through tight caverns that twist through the rocky ground like wicked snakes, ending in a final gargantuan chamber in the mountain that houses goblins of all four clans in the thousands. Traditionally the goblins of the Great Hovel elect a female to be the ruler and overseer of the community in the Great Hovel, and that is were Queen Agatha's role and responsibilities lie. Agatha rules over thousands of goblins in the Great Hovel with ambition and careful planning into how she conducts herself and her subjects. This has created an unusual unison with the goblins of the four clans who reside here, who normally war with one another in any other place in Attilos.

Adrie

Adrie is a large village of dwellings made of rock and clay with lush green grass thatched together to make the rooftops. The grass roofing is flat on top, allowing villagers to walk overtop to get to their destination. A thick magical forest envelopes the village with dense trees and vines that keep it from being discovered by snooping humans who spend their short lives in search of it. In Adrie live a population of elves that stand at seven feet in height on average. Their culture bears similar resemblance to that of Ancient Neolithic Scottish and Scandinavian humans. Those being the last friendly humans they historically have encountered. If you somehow happen to find yourself here, you can expect to be greeted by an intense Natural magical energy that surrounds the village, and you'll notice the air feels more full. Thicker and more energizing than what you are normally used to. This is because of the magical area that the village resides within.

The Laurian River

The Laurian River is a lengthy river that runs through the continent of Vissara, almost cutting it in half diagonally. It's pure iridescent waters reflecting a collidescope of blues, purples, pinks, and greens. This river supplies clean water to all in Vissara, used for drinking, bathing, and the daily life of the many different inhabitants. The water of the Laurian river is said to be so pure and free of contaminants that it can cure most illnesses by drinking it alone.

The Durimi Cordillera

The Durimi Cordillera is a large cluster of enormous mountain ranges that start alon the Northern Coast of Vissara that stretch to the center of the continent, separating a long river that almost diagonally cuts Vissara in half. Constructed into the mountainside are grand entrances to dwarven strongholds that have been there for thousands of years. Expertly crafted by enchanted tools by the dwarves of ancient times. These magnificent fortresses stand testimate to the flawless dwarven architecture and resilience of their people. Dwarves aren't the only residents of the Durimi Cordillera. One of the biggest conflicts dwarves in these mountains face is the creeping presance of the goblins born to the Noctura Clan. Human sized pale white goblins with short muscular legs and lanky arms who move about the caverns inside Durimi with large echo locative ears that compensate for their lack of sight. They are extremely adept at advanced climbing and a constant hazard for the Dwarves of Durimi.

Turanim Forest

Turanim Forest is a medium sized dense grouping of Pine trees and wilderness that blankets the hills near the Noctura Caves in the Durimi Cordillera. Travelers hear rumors of a swarm of giant spiders that roam this area hunting dire wolves and wandering travelers. At night screams can be heard from the forest in the distance of what sounds like the souls of the dead who have fallen victim in this place.

Noctura Caverns

Noctura Caverns are a series of cramped twisted caves and sharp jagged cliffs and boulders. The only greenery in this place is the moss that grows in the damp caves of the mountain. The entries of these caves are high above ground with a winding cavern cutting through the mountains below. This is the home of the goblins of the Noctura Clan. Goblins with pale white skin, short muscular legs, and long lanky arms that have adapted to life in these caves for centuries. These goblins have evolved in ways such as loosing their ability to use their sight in extiangge for sonar hearing and larger pointy ears. They have bodies evolved for advanced climbing and they support this adaption with the use of bridges, ropes with grappling hooks, and harpoons to get around the more difficult terrain of their home.

Hohendurim

Hohendurim is a monumental work of architectural masterpiece built by the Dwarves of the Durimi Cordillera. This mighty castle fortress was carved from the side of a mountain range and it's chambers lie within the earth. This marvel of Dwarven architecture has withstood the test of time in the Durimi Cordillera in the harshest icy climate known to Vissara. Within it's subterranean chambers lies the focal point of Dwarven civilization. Thousands of Dwarves from around Attilos come here to be with their people and strive in their crafts year round. United under the rule of a mighty Dwarven King.

(Native Goblin Tribe References)

The Goraks are the goblins that have green skin and are closest to resemblance with human civilization in their culture and way of life. Often living in Burroughs deep in the forests that surround human cities. They are the most reasonable of all the different tribes of goblins.

The Noctura are goblins that dwell deep in the caverns of mountain ranges. They do not have eyes and are blind but their ears have evolved for echo locative hearing to help them travel about the cave systems. Their bodies are hairless and pale. Adapting extra lanky arms and short muscular legs for better climbing ability. These goblins have also learned to use ropes, hooks, hang gliders, and grappling hooks to help them move across more difficult territories.

Non native goblins

Nagili (Dumal Archipelago)

The Nagili are red skinned goblins that make their homes at sea on ships or along the coastlines of the continents they travel too. These goblins once stowaways of human ships have learned the trade of sea faring and over decades have made it their way of life.

Drazzan (Ragiid)

The Drazzan are small black hairy nomadic goblins known for their skill in theivery, deception, and cunning. They gather in masses and construct camps filled with the treasures they stole and they do this to sell these goods to wandering adventurers for insane prices. Underestimating these small goblins is unwise as they have a short temper and they are known to attack savagely.
