The Nagas are the living legacy of the Ishteka Empire’s paranoia and brilliance. Engineered through high-order sorcery, they were created to serve as the ultimate immortal sentinels for the Empire’s most sensitive locations.
• Purpose & Creation: Unlike the Yuan-ti, who were bred for society and conquest, Nagas were designed as solitary researchers and guardians. The Ishteka granted them biological immortality so they could stand watch over vaults, libraries, and star-aligned ziggurats for millennia without the need for succession or relief.
• The Eternal Watch: Because they do not age, many Nagas still inhabit the crumbling ruins of the Ishteka. They remain bound to their original directives, guarding ancient secrets or continuing arcane experiments started centuries ago.
• Nature: They are fiercely territorial and highly intelligent. While they are capable of conversation, they usually view shorter-lived races as momentary distractions. To a Naga, a century is a heartbeat, and their primary loyalty remains to the long-dead Ishteka masters who wove their souls into their serpentine forms.
