22_Black_Dog_Knights_and_Wyald

The Black Dog Knights were a brutal military unit sent after the fugitive Hawks. Their leader, Wyald, was secretly an apostle. This is one of the clearest signs before the Eclipse that the human world was already infiltrated by inhuman forces.

Wyald's presence shows how an apostle can exist inside military structures. He was not a random monster in the wilderness; he commanded men, exploited a kingdom's desperation, and turned official pursuit into terror. Zodd later killed him before the Eclipse, revealing that apostles themselves exist within larger supernatural hierarchies and rivalries.

For the campaign, Black Dog remnants are excellent post-Eclipse threats. Their leader is gone, but surviving soldiers, imitators, deserters, and victims remain. Some may worship Wyald's memory. Others may flee what they saw. Some could be hired by nobles who want dirty work done. A few may carry trophies or information tied to the Hawks' final route.

Use them as human horror rather than supernatural main villains. They represent what ordinary men can become under monstrous leadership. A Black Dog camp can be disturbing without graphic detail: burned banners, stolen uniforms, frightened prisoners, and soldiers who laugh too loudly because silence scares them.

The AI should not make Wyald alive again unless intentionally creating a false rumor or apostle echo.
