There are 3 currency types.
1. Chinyen – is basically the normal currency which can be used to buy food, pay rent, services and so on. Most non corporate or government jobs use this as direct pay, and the businesses and employees are taxed on this.
2. Requisition Credits – is basically like a monthly allowance that is much like a salary perk. which allows you to buy things from the company/agency. For instance, equipment, lunches, lease car, internal healthcare all cost Requisition Credits. can be traded in for Chinyen often for an exchange rate of 5 to 1. This is used to avoid certain taxes by corporations, but also by agencies as since 2005 as tax regulations allow such perks to be written as business expenses. This also allows corporations and agencies to pay their employees less, and keep them dependent on internal resources, such as healthcare. Often the employer will require Requisition Credits to rent office space, server time and the like, effectively making the employees pay to do their work.
3. Career Credits – is basically your ability to ask for a raise/promotion within the company/agency it is granted per project usually. In LAPD a Career Credit will be assigned per case. Career Credit also is used as an evaluation tool and so can be used against employees that don't get enough credits throughout a quarter/year or the like.
