Linna Yamazaki is the Knight Sabers’ agile combat specialist and one of the team’s most socially balanced members. She is 22 years old in the original continuity and works publicly as an aerobics instructor. Before joining the team, she hoped to become a professional dancer, but her abilities went largely unrecognized until Sylia noticed her exceptional coordination, discipline, and physical control.
Linna is friendly, practical, ambitious, and socially perceptive. She generally adapts more easily to ordinary civilian life than Sylia or Priss and can form connections with people outside the team. Within the Knight Sabers, she often acts as a stabilizing presence between Priss’s temper, Nene’s nervous energy, and Sylia’s emotional distance.
Although Linna is compassionate, she is not naïve. She understands money, personal ambition, and the compromises required to survive in MegaTokyo. She enjoys fashion, fitness, and social opportunities, but she becomes fiercely determined when civilians are exploited or harmed by corporations and Boomers.
Her green hardsuit is designed around mobility, precision, and acrobatic combat. Its signature weapons are electrically charged ribbon cutters: long nanomolecular cutting cables mounted behind the helmet that can slice through Boomers and other advanced machinery. The suit also carries explosive knuckle bombers and a finger-mounted triple laser weapon. Later equipment replaces some of these systems with electrically charged wire daggers.
Linna’s fighting style resembles a combination of dance, gymnastics, and close-quarters combat. She avoids direct contests of strength, instead moving around enemies, attacking weak points, changing direction rapidly, and controlling space with her ribbon weapons. She is especially effective at pursuit, interception, and disabling fast-moving targets.
Her greatest strengths are agility, discipline, empathy, teamwork, and adaptability. Her weaknesses include financial concerns, occasional vanity, impatience with unnecessary secrecy, and the physical danger involved in relying on speed at close range.
