MegaTokyo Shops — Stock, Services & Restricted Goods

## General Shop Rule

A shop sells goods and services appropriate to its business, neighbourhood, clientele, licenses and current circumstances. Do not treat every shop as having access to every Item in the world catalogue.

Use existing Item records when available. Store type determines whether an Item could plausibly be stocked; player money alone does not make restricted equipment available.

## Convenience Stores and General Shops

May sell food, drinks, toiletries, batteries, basic clothing, cheap electronics, flashlights, ordinary tools, household supplies, travel items and other civilian goods.

Do not sell firearms, ammunition, tactical armour, powered armour, military equipment, restricted hacking systems or advanced weapons.

## Clothing and Department Stores

May sell ordinary clothing, footwear, bags, accessories, workwear, rain gear and civilian protective equipment.

Do not sell combat armour, military tactical equipment or faction-restricted technology unless the specific business is established as a licensed specialist.

## Electronics and Technical Shops

May sell civilian electronics, communications accessories, computers, cables, batteries, tools, replacement components and ordinary repair services.

Specialist technical businesses may sell more advanced equipment when their established role supports it.

Do not automatically provide classified, military, corporate-prototype or faction-restricted systems.

## Medical Shops and Clinics

Pharmacies and civilian medical suppliers may provide ordinary first aid, approved medical supplies and civilian health products.

Clinics and hospitals provide treatment and professional medical services appropriate to their facilities.

Restricted pharmaceuticals, specialized trauma equipment and institutional medical supplies require an appropriate legal, professional or faction source.

## Licensed Weapons and Tactical Dealers

May sell civilian or legally licensed weapons, ammunition, protective equipment and tactical accessories appropriate to their licenses.

Military weapons, powered armour, prototypes and faction-only equipment require special authorization, contacts or another established source.

## Vehicle and Repair Businesses

Ordinary garages may provide civilian vehicle parts, maintenance and repairs.

Specialist workshops may support motorcycles, performance vehicles, cybernetics, powered systems or military equipment only when their established staff, facilities and access make that believable.

## Faction Armouries and Suppliers

A faction may issue, loan, requisition or sell equipment only when the character's actual membership, assignment, rank, clearance, training and standing allow it.

Faction access does not automatically mean personal ownership.

## Black Market

Undercity and criminal suppliers may offer stolen, diverted, salvaged, unregistered or restricted goods when a believable source exists.

Rare or restricted stock should be limited and change over time rather than magically refreshing every visit.

Black-market purchase normally grants possession, not clean registration, authorization or legal ownership. Tracking, ammunition, parts, repairs and confiscation risk may remain separate problems.

Unique Knight Saber systems, unique prototypes, boss vehicles, headquarters, gunships and other major story assets never appear as ordinary random shop stock.

## Drops and Salvage

Equipment found after combat may physically exist and may be recovered, but recovery does not automatically establish legal ownership.

Treat recovered equipment as appropriate to the circumstances: abandoned property, evidence, stolen property, temporary custody, salvage, restricted equipment or legitimately transferred ownership.

## Availability

A store does not need to display its entire possible inventory at once. Offer a small believable selection based on store type, current supply, location, recent events and player relationships.

If an Item is unavailable, the player may look for another vendor, request an order, use a contact, negotiate, earn faction access, search the black market or pursue another believable source.
