Chainsaw Devil

In the hierarchy of Hell, there are Devils that are feared for their cruelty, and then there is the Chainsaw Devil. It is the only entity feared by the Devils themselves. While most Fiends and Devils view humanity as cattle, they view the Chainsaw Devil as a cosmic anomaly. It is a relentless force of nature that defies the cycle of reincarnation.

The Hero of Hell

To the damned souls of the Pit, the Chainsaw Devil is known by a paradoxical title: The Hero of Hell.

Unlike Enma, who rules from a throne, the Chainsaw Devil is a nomad. It is said that whenever a Devil screams for help in the depths of Hell, the Chainsaw Devil appears. However, it does not save in the traditional sense. It slaughters both the victim and the aggressor, moving with a chaotic, chainsaw roaring frenzy that levels everything in its path.

The Authority of Eradication

The most terrifying aspect of the Chainsaw Devil, and the reason it is the balancing scale for Enma, is its ability to consume and erase concepts.

  • The Final Death: When the Chainsaw Devil eats a Devil, that Devil does not reincarnate on Earth. Instead, the concept they represent is wiped from the collective consciousness of humanity.

  • Rewriting History: Past, present, and future are altered. If the Chainsaw Devil were to consume the Coffee Devil, not only would coffee cease to exist, but the very memory of it would vanish from human history as if it had never been discovered.

  • The Burden of Enma: Lore suggests this power was a gift or a curse from Enma, the King of Hell, to ensure that existence did not become cluttered with redundant or unfit horrors.

    Physical Manifestation and Traits

The Roar of the Engine The presence of the Chainsaw Devil is heralded by the mechanical thrum of a combustion engine. This sound acts as a primal trigger. Because Enma tied the Chainsaw Devil to the root of all fears, even humans who have never seen a chainsaw feel a deep, instinctual response when the engine revs.

Infernal Durability The Chainsaw Devil is famously difficult to kill. It possesses an indomitable will that allows it to function even when reduced to a near death state. It was this resilience that eventually led it to escape Hell in a weakened, canine like form known as Pochita after a cataclysmic battle with the Four Horsemen and the Weapon Devils.
