The Moonlit Academies are a loose confederation of mysterious arcane institutions scattered across Vaelor, with several secret enclaves within Eldoria.
Founded after the Shattering, these academies study the fractured nature of reality, Veil magic, astrology, and forbidden knowledge. Students and masters wear silver masks and flowing dark robes, and lessons are conducted exclusively at night under moonlight or artificial starlight. They believe that true understanding can only be achieved by embracing the madness and beauty of a broken world.
While they claim neutrality in political matters, the Academies are notorious for their ruthless pursuit of knowledge. Many graduates become powerful (and dangerous) mages, while others descend into madness or become Veil-Touched abominations.
