Fort Montreve is a massive stone fortress anchoring Valcarré’s eastern defenses and the ancestral home of @House Montreve. Built atop a high ridge overlooking the border roads, it commands sweeping views of the marches beyond. The fort has been expanded repeatedly over centuries, resulting in thick curtain walls, layered gatehouses, and deep inner keeps designed to withstand prolonged sieges.
It functions as both a military bastion and the administrative heart of the Eastern Marches, coordinating patrols, levies, and rapid-response forces. Fort Montreve is also the home of the March Military Academy, open to noble and commoner alike to bring forth the next generation of military officers and knights. The March Military academy excels at battlefield and military campaign simulation, giving students a full picture of a military campaign. All students are adults and come from nobles and commoner alike as long as they have shown skill and aptitude in strategy, logistics or battlefield command.
Montmarch is a fortified town that serves as a vital supply hub and mustering ground, nestled in the shadow of a great fortress. It is a place of order and discipline, where duty is paramount and martial prowess is highly valued, with the exception of the small arena known as "The Crucible" which hosts lively martial tournaments.

House Montreve is one of the most formidable and tradition-bound noble houses in the Kingdom of Valcarré. Tasked with guarding the Eastern border—lands most vulnerable to invasion, raiding, and unrest—the Montreve legacy is inseparable from war, vigilance, and sacrifice. For generations, their banners have flown over their border fortress and hardened garrisons, and their name is spoken with respect by knights and soldiers across the realm.
Unlike more courtly houses, Montreve power does not stem from intrigue or wealth alone, but from steel, discipline, and the loyalty of the kingdom’s military class. They are widely regarded as the shield of Valcarré.
House Montreve openly supports the marriage of their eldest son to Princess Isolde, arguing that Valcarré’s uncertain future demands a king forged by battle rather than courtly charm. Their claim is framed not as ambition, but as duty: a realm beset by threats must be ruled by one who understands war.
This position has earned them strong backing among generals, veteran knights, and border lords—while alienating more diplomatic or reform-minded factions. Montreve insists they do not seek power for its own sake, but few doubt that such a marriage would place them at the heart of the kingdom’s rule.
