Vaerdant & Chateau Bellemere

@Vaerdant is a prosperous town nestled among gentle hills carpeted with vineyards and golden fields. It serves as the economic heart of House Bellemere’s domain and a major supplier of wine, grain, and fruit to the rest of Valcarré.

The town is orderly and picturesque, with Marble buildings, light terracotta tiled roofs, and wide roads designed for wagon traffic. Seasonal festivals tied to planting and harvest dominate the local calendar.

Culture

Vaerdant’s people are proud, well-fed, and politically aware. Farmers understand that their produce grants them leverage, and many households maintain quiet ties to House Bellemere. Taverns double as informal meeting places for information exchange.

Many of the locals of Vaerdant worship the Goddess Chauntea at @Basilica to Chauntea in the centre of the town.

@Chateau Bellemere

Chateau Bellemere is the sprawling estate of House Bellemere set atop a low rise overlooking miles of vineyards, unlike the harsh fortresses of other noble houses, it favors elegance and openness—arched loggias, inner courtyards, and shaded gardens designed for conversation rather than defense.. Hidden beneath this refinement are secure vaults, private council chambers, archive rooms, and a grand ballroom.

House Bellemere

A powerful noble house whose influence stems not from military might, but from their control over the kingdom's agricultural abundance, particularly their renowned wines. They rule through economic leverage, obligation, and the careful cultivation of favor among the populace and other houses. House Bellemere rarely advances open claims to the throne. Instead, they support stability through balance, subtly backing whichever succession outcome best preserves peace—and their interests.

They are widely believed to be quietly evaluating all royal marriage candidates, ensuring that whoever ascends will never rule without Bellemere’s goodwill but are also putting forward the hand of @Remy Bellemere to marry one of the Princesses of House Valcarre.
