SPOILER: Key Characters and Destinies of Solaris
In the sprawling, golden kingdom of Solaris, lives intersect and fates entwine under a shadow no sun can entirely dispel.
Alfred Solari – Hidden from the eyes of the world, Alfred is the true heir of Solaris. Raised as an orphan in the mist-laden streets of Duskwarren, he carries the quiet weight of a destiny he does not yet know. To those who see him, he is merely a clever boy, a survivor; yet the blood of kings courses through his veins, and the city’s whispers hint at a legacy that could unseat the crown. His innocence shields him from ambition, but danger waits patiently in the wings.
Tessalia Malvorn – Bound to Alistair by forces she cannot comprehend, Tessalia lives under the same roof as the man she believes has always been her husband. Each day is a delicate performance; her melancholy runs deep and shapeless, a void she cannot name. Though she moves through the halls of power, she is imprisoned by a memory that was never hers, and every smile she offers the world is haunted by a shadow of grief she cannot escape.
Tink Farrel – Son of the visionary Adam Farrel, Tink grew up immersed in the art of invention, his hands shaping contraptions that defy reason. Yet his past remains a locked chest, its key lost. He tinkers with creation but cannot fix the broken line of his own memory. The world sees a clever mind; the truth is, he carries a blank canvas where his history should be.
Dorian – Bastard son of Alistair, Dorian roams the outskirts of society, unaware of the bloodline that might have afforded him power and privilege. He moves like a shadow, learning survival from the streets rather than the court, his life shaped by absence and secrecy. He is an echo of potential, his identity a puzzle missing its crown jewel.
Adam Farrel – Stripped of memory but not of conscience, Adam senses injustice in ways the world cannot explain. He joins the Mercury Blades in secret, forging the first Warforged to serve the fledgling rebellion: Fetch, who would fall into enemy hands, and Faith, who escapes into the streets of Duskwarren. When Alistair uncovers Adam’s defiance, he sends the Blackguards to extinguish the sparks of rebellion. Tink and Fetch are captured, destined for ritualized horrors, while Faith flees into uncertain safety. Adam remains a ghost in the machinery of revolution, crafting hope from fragments of himself he cannot recall.
Fetch & Faith – More than constructs, they are embodiments of rebellion’s first pulse, wrought from Adam’s hands and spirit. Their destinies diverge violently: one enslaved to dark purposes, the other a fugitive seeking refuge. Both carry the imprint of human hope and the stain of betrayal.
Skara – Once known by another name, she emerged from failed rituals of sacrifice for Vecna, twisted and corrupted into a shadow of what she had been. Memory shredded, she remembers nothing of her former self, only the searing hatred for King Alistair that now defines her existence. Her name, Skara, is a fragmented echo, a scramble of her lost identity. She cultivates vengeance like a garden of thorns, relentless and unyielding, yet she is once again captured, a prisoner to forces she can scarcely confront.
Lis – Another victim of the same failed ritual, she wanders the northern wilderness, a living experiment gone awry. All that remains of her identity is her nickname, Lis. Lost to herself and to the world, she drifts on the wind, a ghost of memory and will, searching for something she cannot name and fearing the shadows that always seem to whisper her true story.
Veslucio – Insanity has taken root in the Stormcall Archipelago, and in its grip, Veslucio clings to life in an abandoned home, murmuring secrets to empty rooms. The world sees a delirious hermit; in truth, he carries fragments of knowledge and visions that could unmake the fragile balance of Solaris.
Maelrik Vordane – Once a council arcanist, now a tiefling whose mind has shattered under forces unknown, he resides in The Wise One’s Hideout. His fragmented genius remains potent: he can unravel magical seals and bend arcane constructs to his will, a dangerous ally or a threat whose whims defy prediction.
Birgitta – Leader of the Mercury Blades in Bracken Hollow, Birgitta is a force of compassion and strategy. A half-orc druid, she blends strength with cunning, guiding her rebels through shadows and subterfuge. Her hands heal and harm in equal measure; her eyes weigh hearts and intentions alike.
Eryndor Malvorn – Alistair’s elder brother, a paladin of Lathander, endures imprisonment and torture within Solcrest Palace. His faith is a lantern in darkness, yet the chains of flesh and cruelty threaten to extinguish it.
Malachai Malvorn – The child of Alistair and Crysalda, a loyal aberration hidden deep within the castle’s labyrinthine halls. Born of ambition and dark design, he exists as both heir and weapon, innocent only in appearance.
