The Planes of Eberron form a complex cosmology of thirteen ever-shifting realms orbiting the Material Plane. Each plane embodies a distinct concept.
These planes drift in and out of alignment with Eberron, affecting magic, moods, and even planar travel. Manifest zones, where a plane’s influence leaks into the world, are scattered across Khorvaire, shaping local phenomena. Though few mortals visit them, the planes are deeply entwined with Eberron’s magic, religions, and prophecies—mysterious forces that hint at a greater cosmic design.
Dal Quor – The Region of Dreams
A plane of dreams and nightmares, shaped by the collective unconscious of mortal minds. It is currently disconnected from Eberron, meaning travel there is impossible by conventional means. The Quori, native to Dal Quor, influence the world through possession and manipulation, notably via the Inspired of Riedra.
Dolurrh – The Realm of the Dead
The plane where souls go after death. It is a gray, misty realm where memories fade and spirits lose their identity. Dolurrh is not a place of punishment or reward—just a final resting place.
Fernia – The Sea of Fire
A plane of eternal flame and heat. It is associated with fire magic, passion, and destructive energy. Elementals of fire and creatures of flame dwell here.
Irian – The Eternal Day
A plane of light, growth, and positive energy. It is tied to healing, renewal, and creation. Irian is often coterminous with Eberron during times of growth and prosperity.
Kythri – The Churning Chaos
A plane of pure chaos and change. It is ever-shifting, with no fixed geography or laws. It represents freedom, creativity, and madness. Slaadi and other chaotic beings dwell here.
Lamannia – The Twilight Forest
A plane of primal nature and untamed wilderness. It is home to beasts, fey, and elemental creatures. Lamannia is a source of natural magic and druidic power.
Mabar – The Endless Night
A plane of darkness, entropy, and undeath. It consumes light and life, and is the source of necrotic energy. Undead and shadowy entities originate here. Mabar is often coterminous during times of death and despair.
Risia – The Plain of Ice
A plane of cold, stasis, and preservation. It is the opposite of Fernia, associated with ice magic and stillness. Risia is often invoked in spells of cold and control.
Shavarath – The Battleground
A plane of eternal war, where celestial, fiendish, and infernal forces clash endlessly. It embodies conflict, discipline, and martial power. Angels, devils, and demons fight here in an endless cycle.
Syrania – The Azure Sky
A peaceful plane of air and serenity. It is associated with communication, diplomacy, and flight. Many believe Syrania is where angels dwell when not fighting in Shavarath.
Thelanis – The Faerie Court
A plane of story, myth, and enchantment. It is the realm of the fey and is deeply tied to folklore and legend. Thelanis often influences the world through mysterious bargains and magical phenomena.
Xoriat – The Realm of Madness
A terrifying and alien plane, home to the daelkyr, beings of madness and corruption. Xoriat’s influence warps reality and minds. It was once coterminous during the Daelkyr invasion, which nearly destroyed the world.
Mechanus (or the Unknown Plane)
In older lore, there was a thirteenth plane that was believed to be lost or hidden. Some sources refer to it as "The Plane of Time" or "The Hidden Realm", but its nature is deliberately mysterious. In some campaigns, this plane is used to represent lost knowledge, time, or prophecy.
