The Severance War (261–289 A.F.)
As production intensified, a power struggle erupted between the Synaxis of Golganneth — machine-augmented nobles who believed in divine hierarchy — and the Cohort Directive of Morrak’s Rise — pragmatic technocrats demanding centralized logic over faith.
For nearly three decades, skirmishes of sabotage and resource denial tore the planet apart. The conflict ended not with victory but collapse: a reactor chain failure beneath Golganneth’s lower levels, known as the Meltdown of Avar Cradle, poisoned vast tracts of the planet’s crust.
Both hives sealed off their underlevels, and the surface became a storm of rust, dust, and electromagnetic static.
