Celestial Spears (lightning gun technique)

Special Technique (Qi-Based | Ranged Magical Attack)

Form Required: Werewolf Lord Form

Level Requirement: 12+

Action Type: Action (Can be Overcharged as Bonus Action)

Range: 120 ft. cone (Volley) or 60 ft. line (Piercing Beam)

Targets: Up to 6 enemies (Volley) or 1 (Focused Beam)

Cooldown: 3 rounds (Standard) | 5 rounds (Overcharged)

\---

Description:

<C:7135045|Drey> channels high-pressure Qi energy through his body, condensing it into radiant lightning-imbued piercing rapid fire bolts that erupt from his palm upon a forceful outward thrust, drilling into the opponent in a barrage. These electrifying projectiles tear through the battlefield like living artillery, each strike echoing with otherworldly force and disrupting internal energy flows. This attack is a signature of Werewolf Lord Form, combining overwhelming force and precision with spiritual devastation.

\---

Attack Modes:

1\. Divine Volley

Effect: Launches up to 6 spears at multiple enemies in a 120 ft. cone.

Attack Roll: Roll separate ranged spell attacks for each target (Use Wisdom modifier + proficiency).

Damage: 4d8 Lightning + 2d6 Radiant per spear.

On Hit Effect: Target must succeed a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or suffer Qi Disruption (see below).

Flavor: Spears arc and curve midair like guided missiles, descending with divine howls.

2\. Focused Spear Beam

Effect: Fires a concentrated spear of pure Qi at a single target in a 60 ft. line (passes through cover unless magical).

Attack Roll: Single ranged spell attack.

Damage: 8d10 Lightning + 4d6 Force.

On Hit Effect: Automatically attempts to pierce 1 magical defense or spatial effect (like Force Wall, Mirror Image, Blink). Target must roll a DC 17 saving throw using the relevant spellcasting modifier to maintain the effect.

Flavor: The air crackles and bends around the beam as it lances through reality itself.

\---

Special Effects:

Qi Disruption: Any creature struck and failing their save suffers -2 to all attack rolls and spell DCs for 2 rounds, due to destabilized internal energy flow. Cannot stack.

Barrier Piercing: Celestial Spears ignore non-magical cover and armor, and reduce magical resistance by 25% for 1 round (once per target per encounter).

Radiant Branding: Enemies struck by 3+ spears in a single use are branded with radiant light visible to allies, granting advantage on next attack against them.

\---

Overcharge Mode (Bonus Action + Action):

<C:7135045|Drey> may overchannel Qi to increase power at a cost.

Effects: Double spear count for Volley (12 total) or increase Focused Beam damage to 12d10 Lightning + 6d6 Force and grant it Disintegration property (non-magical objects and terrain are vaporized on contact).

Drawback: <C:7135045|Drey> takes 4d10 Force damage and gains 1 level of Exhaustion unless he succeeds a DC 18 Constitution saving throw.

Flavor: Spears glow white-hot and crack the ground as they erupt. Air distorts violently.

\---

Drawbacks & Risks:

Qi Tremors: If used more than once in a combat without a rest, <C:7135045|Drey> suffers -2 to all Qi-based abilities for 3 rounds after second use due to internal backlash.

Unstable Field: Using within 30 ft. of corrupted energy zones may trigger wild surges or cause partial misfires (DM discretion).

\---

Visuals & Flavor:

Snapping sparks of electricity emerge from glowing sigils on <C:7135045|Drey>’s shoulders and forearms, appearing like molten lightning wrapped in ghostly howls. Each throw causes a thunderous rapid fire echo and leaves behind radiant glyph-burns in the air. When overcharged, the air rips and reforms with divine concussions, and the ground beneath <C:7135045|Drey> cracks and smolders.
