Caligrave and Hemreach

CALIGRAVE – The City of the Crimson Veil

Once the proud capital of Hemreach’s alchemical renaissance, Caligrave now stands as a labyrinth of spired cathedra, flooded canals, and blood-slick cobblestones. Beneath its gaslamps and gothic arches prowl the Beastborne, those cursed by the Plague’s final stages — half-man, half-memory. The remaining scholars of the city call themselves The Anatomists, dissecting the fallen for knowledge and penance alike.

Above, the Sanctorum of the Pale Moon still tolls its bells — said to keep the plague dormant — while below, the Underhollows seethe with feral shapes and whispers of a blood-sunken god.

Caligrave endures, half-alive, lit by firelight and fear.

HEMREACH – The Blooded Expanse

Hemreach lies far across the Southern Sea — a continent of shrouded isles, blood-red moors, and cities half-lost beneath veils of mist and cathedral spires. Once a land of alchemists, scholars, and healers, it fell to its own ambition: the Crimson Plague, born of corrupted vitae, warped flesh and mind alike. Now, its scholars hunt monsters by moonlight, and its nobles hide behind glass masks and silver syringes. The air itself carries the iron tang of blood and rain.

Hemreach is whispered of in Aurellium and Solmarra as a grave of men and miracles, a land where the boundaries of body, soul, and beast have come undone.
