Gloamhold Warrens

“Light offends the gods below.”

Deep beneath the world sprawls a chasmous labyrinth of silence and bone. Here dwell the Veilkin, pale descendants of the surface races who have adapted to endless dark. To them, sound is sin and silence is scripture.

The Matriarch of the Veil rules from the Shrouded Throne, speaking once each century — her words are said to still hearts. The Warrens are beautiful in their void: moss glows faintly, obsidian walls absorb sound, and the Eclipsed Lake mirrors no stars.

Outsiders who enter must undergo the Quieting: tongues blackened, ears bound, until they can no longer profane the dark. The Veilkin see the Crimson Plague as divine punishment for the noise of the living world — and they will not let it rise from the deep again.

Tone: subterranean mystery; worship through silence.
Common Races: Veilkin, Hollowkin, Clockwrought.
