Nauvel’s Vein

“Blood remembers what the mind forgets.”

A sprawling ruined city, Nauvel’s Vein is where the line between life and alchemy vanished. The Blood Scholars of Nauvel, once healers and physicians, turned their art toward revelation: to read the plague in the veins of the dying, to decode memory written in crimson.

Every structure here breathes — from the Pale Infirmary’s pulsing walls to the Sanguine Tower, whose glass arteries carry the lifeblood of experiments long since abandoned. Blood is currency, medium, scripture, and curse. The Bloodwrought, humans remade with red mercury in place of blood, serve as the Scholars’ messengers and martyrs.

It is said that deep within the Crimson Mirror, a drop of the first blood — untainted, divine — still lives, dreaming of the heart it once belonged to. The Scholars seek it, not for power, but for absolution.
