Climate and Geography
Southern Ooo is a dramatic transition zone characterized by sweeping, sun-scorched grasslands, sparse woodlands, and isolated wooded islands stretching out toward the far southern edge of the world. The heart of the region is dominated by the volatile, heat-warped territory of the Fire Kingdom, surrounded by cracked earth, thermal vents, and jagged volcanic craters.
The Weather: Sweltering and arid near the interior, where blistering heat radiating from the volcanic expanses keeps the local air perpetually dry and shimmering with mirages. Further away from the kingdom's core, the climate mellows into a warm, tropical-leaning pattern, featuring wide-open skies, seasonal heatwaves, and sudden, torrential downpours that sweep in from the southern oceans to drench the grasslands.
The Environment: A striking contrast of hostile elements and quiet wilderness. The terrain directly surrounding the central volcanic realm is an ashen, barren wasteland of lava rock and dried clay. However, as the land stretches outward into the southern grasslands, it gives way to rolling green plains dotted with sturdy deciduous trees, culminating in lush, isolated wooded islands at the extreme southern frontier that remain largely untamed and isolated from major civilization.
