Omeron Houses, Serlen, Grandallia, Roania
The Barony of Omeron has three main cities which belong to three mage houses: Roania, Grandallia and Ravenhold.
Characters from Roania were incredibly Elitist and prideful, so naturally Roania focused on the purity of their mage bloodlines, hoping they could attune humans to the arcane and surpass even elves. They eventually became complacent and debauched, but remain the most powerful. And they are very cunning diplomats, as they are the ones who actually have to lead the way and deal with other kingdoms.
The second house, Grandallia, was and will always be known as the second house, and that really pissed the characters from that faction off. They became overly pushy with their children, as they tried to surpass the first house not with purity of bloodlines but with raw talent and skill. They are less picky, but more strict and just as elitist, always trying to outshine themselves and the capital. And because their founder excelled in astral magic they focused on observing the stars, building all sorts of pretty starry structures and creating magic firework festivals.
The third house is the house of Ravenhold. Scorned by all, it became a less magical, more down-to Earth lesser city. Focused on trade. But as they were often attacked by pirates and creatures of the night, they started to develop their military. It didn't go well at first, but then a mysterious hero of house Ravenhold, Count Grey, crushed the creatures of the night in-battle and created a grim reputation for himself. Said hero developed his own school of magic. Blood magic. Everyone pretends he hasn't been living for 300 years while replacing his heirs and doing foul experiments on his own.
