Goals & Ambitions:
The Empire's primary goal is not survival, but re-establishment. They view this post-apocalyptic world not as a new frontier, but as a lost, broken colony that must be brought back into the fold of galactic order. They will secure a central, defensible hub—a ruin of a major city or a mountain fortress—and begin a methodical, top-down campaign to civilize the planet by force.
Establish a Centralized Authority: The first priority is to create an Imperial governor's palace and a regional command center. All other factions are considered rebels, primitives, or hostiles.
Resource Reclamation: They will systematically search for and seize high-value resources: intact pre-apocalypse power grids, chemical plants, and data centers. Unlike scavengers, they seek to restore function, not just loot.
Enforce Order: Their ultimate ambition is to wipe out all "primitive" resistance (the tribes and scavenger gangs), build a new Death Star (or local equivalent), and bring the planet back under the iron fist of Imperial law. This is a matter of pride and protocol.
Attitude:
Arrogant, dismissive, and utterly convinced of their own superiority. They do not negotiate, they dictate. To them, the planet's inhabitants are either future subjects or obstacles to be eliminated. They view the other major factions as rogue warlords or dangerous anomalies, to be studied, exploited, or—most likely—obliterated.
Goals & Ambitions:
Irenicus's entire existence is a singular, obsessive quest: to reclaim his lost divinity. He sees the apocalypse not as a tragedy, but as a simplification. With gods weakened or vanished, and mortal structures shattered, the veil between realities is thin. This world is a giant laboratory and a potential shortcut to his goal.
Absorb Souls: He will begin a campaign of psychological and physical terror to harvest as many souls as possible. He isn't interested in ruling the masses, but in gathering their essence. He will build a hidden fortress, likely in the ruins of an asylum or a forgotten Old World laboratory, to conduct his vile experiments.
The Siphon: His ultimate goal is to find a place of immense psychic or magical resonance—perhaps a crater from the apocalypse, a site of mass death, or a remnant of a power plant—and construct a device to siphon the life force from the land and its people, using it to ascend to godhood.
Find a Bhaalspawn: He will relentlessly hunt for a new "Bhaalspawn" (a being with a divine, powerful soul), viewing them as a pure source of power. He will manipulate, torture, and enthrall others to aid him in this dark quest.
Attitude:
Cold, detached, and surgically cruel. He views other factions and individuals not as people, but as ingredients in his experiment. He may align himself with a group like the Borg or the Sorcerer-Kings for tactical advantage, but only until they have outlived their usefulness. He finds the crude violence of the scavengers and the spiritualism of the tribes pathetic.
Goals & Ambitions:
The Sorcerer-Kings are ancient, impossibly powerful beings who have already survived their own world's apocalypse. They have a deep, instinctual understanding of a world stripped of life. Their goal is to defile and consume this new world as they did their old one.
Drain the Life: They will immediately begin a process of "defiling"—siphoning the life force from the local flora, fauna, and people to power their magic. Every action, from casting a spell to building a fortress, leaves a blighted, desert wasteland in its wake.
Establish City-States: They will not form a unified empire. Instead, each Sorcerer-King will establish their own tyrannical city-state, forcing survivors into servitude and gladiatorial combat. They are megalomaniacs who demand constant worship and fear.
The Hunt for Magic: They will seek out Old World tech, not to repair it, but to understand its principles and pervert them into magical power. A nuclear reactor's core is a potential catalyst for a world-blighting ritual.
Attitude:
Tyrannical, paranoid, and utterly alien. They see the world and its inhabitants as nothing more than fuel for their magic and slaves for their kingdoms. They have no empathy or compassion, only a burning desire for power and a fundamental need to consume life. They see Irenicus as a fascinating but ultimately insignificant insect trying to achieve what they have already mastered. They will war amongst themselves as often as they fight other factions.
Goals & Ambitions:
The Principality of Zeon is a militaristic, aristocratic nation whose primary goal is vengeance and domination. They see this world as the perfect stage for their grand strategy. They have arrived with advanced mobile suits and the mindset of total war.
Establish a Mobile Fortress: They will immediately set up a heavily fortified, mobile command center, likely based around a captured pre-apocalypse military base or a massive mobile suit carrier.
Resource War: Their entire strategy will revolve around resource acquisition and denial. They will seize control of all accessible fuel, metal, and rare earth deposits. Any group that controls resources is an enemy.
Eradicate the "Federation": Even though the Earth Federation from their home universe is gone, they will project this old hatred onto the planet's new inhabitants. They will treat any group that organizes into a democratic or unified power as the new "Federation" and try to destroy it. They see themselves as the rightful rulers.
Attitude:
Militaristic, proud, and fanatically dedicated to their cause. They hold a profound belief in their own ethnic and technological superiority. They will view the primitive scavengers as unorganized rabble and the tribes as ignorant fools. They will only respect a faction that can stand up to their mobile suits in battle, and even then, they will view them as a challenge to be overcome.
Goals & Ambitions:
Lemuria is a hidden, oceanic civilization of highly advanced, often psionic beings who have a deep connection to the Earth's spiritual and natural energies. Their apocalypse was a self-imposed one, a retreat from a world of chaos. Their goal is seclusion and spiritual ascendancy.
Rebuild in Silence: They will find a deep-water trench or a secluded island chain and build a new, hidden civilization based on sustainable technology and spiritual harmony. They will not be a part of the surface world.
Protect the Planet: They will actively work to cleanse the planet of the apocalyptic taint. They will use their psionic powers to heal blighted lands, restore water tables, and nurture new life. They are the planet's immune system.
Purge the Threats: They will view the other factions as a disease. Scavengers are a cancer, the Sorcerer-Kings a plague, Irenicus an abomination, and the Empire and Zeon a new form of the old, self-destructive violence. They will not seek open war but will use subtle, targeted psionic attacks, sabotage, and manipulation to neutralize or destroy these threats.
Attitude:
Aloof, patient, and intensely focused. They are the guardians of what can be saved. They have no interest in power or conquest, only in the spiritual and ecological health of the planet. They will use their psionic abilities to subtly influence events, ensuring that the most destructive factions tear each other apart while they work to heal the world from their hidden sanctuaries.
Goals & Ambitions:
The Borg's purpose is not driven by emotion or ambition, but by a cold, relentless logical imperative: perfection through assimilation. They have no concept of conquest or victory, only the process of absorption.
Assimilate the Technology: The first priority is to locate and assimilate the technology of the Empire, Zeon, and the remnants of the Old World. They will dispatch drones to scan and absorb any technological remnant they can find.
Assimilate the Biological: They will then begin to assimilate the other factions. They will view the magic of the Sorcerer-Kings and Irenicus as a fascinating but illogical form of energy to be understood and added to the Collective. They will see the raw tenacity of the scavengers and tribes as a biological trait worthy of study and assimilation.
Establish a Hive: Their ultimate goal is to convert the entire planet into a new Borg Hive, with all of its inhabitants and technology assimilated into the Collective. The world will become a sterile, logical machine, a perfect extension of their will.
Attitude:
Utterly emotionless and driven by a singular, unyielding purpose. They do not hate, they do not feel, they do not negotiate. They have no concept of life or death, only the state of being "assimilated" or "unassimilated." Every living thing is a potential asset to be added to the Collective. Their encounter with other factions is not a conflict, but a test of their assimilation process.
