Mosscrag Camp

Mosscrag Camp

A Goblin Encampment Outside Bramblebrook

A short walk south of Bramblebrook, just beyond the village's fields and at the edge of the forest, lies Mosscrag Camp. Hidden among thick brambles and moss-covered boulders, it is home to a small tribe of goblins known as the Mosscrag Clan.

The camp consists of crude hide tents, wooden watchtowers, and ramshackle huts built from fallen timber, scavenged wagons, and animal bones. Smoke rises from several fire pits where goblins roast rabbits, mushrooms, and whatever else they can catch—or steal.

Unlike many goblin tribes, the Mosscrag Clan is not openly at war with Bramblebrook. Instead, an uneasy peace exists between them. They occasionally raid chicken coops, steal tools, or ambush careless travelers, but they also trade mushrooms, herbs, furs, and information with anyone willing to bargain.

The villagers dislike them.

The goblins find this hilarious.

The Mosscrag Clan

The tribe survives by hunting, trapping, scavenging old ruins, and occasionally robbing travelers who wander too far from the road.

They worship no god, but deeply fear the Four Sisters—especially Thistle, whom they call "The Green Mother." They believe she speaks through wolves, ravens, and the ancient trees.

Camp Features

The Bone Gate

A crude entrance made from sharpened logs and the skulls of wolves and boars.

Chief's Hut

The largest structure in the camp, decorated with trophies taken from monsters and adventurers alike.

The Mushroom Pit

A damp cave where glowing mushrooms and medicinal fungi are cultivated.

Beast Pens

Wooden enclosures housing giant lizards, wolves, and several ill-tempered giant boars used for hunting and defense.

Scrap Heap

A mountain of stolen equipment, broken weapons, rusty armor, and odd treasures. Careful searching may uncover useful items.

Chief Gribnak "One-Ear"

The tribe is led by Gribnak One-Ear, a broad-shouldered goblin missing his left ear after surviving an attack by a giant spider.

Unlike most goblin chiefs, Gribnak values cleverness over brute strength. He prefers negotiation when it profits him, but never misses an opportunity to trick outsiders into doing dangerous work for the tribe.

Despite his rough appearance, he keeps every promise he makes—though he chooses his words very carefully.
