The reception desk is located as you enter through The Crossroads Academy's gates, which extend in a magnificent, semi-circular shape in shiny brass and polished amber wood. Behind the counter hang three large, beautifully woven tapestries depicting the symbols and colors of the three lineages: the Guard Group (scarlet shield), the Magic Group (sapphire hourglass) and the Diplomat Group (emerald scale). On the counter are neat stacks of information brochures, large leather guest books, inkwells with quills and a small, ticking brass clock. The room is warm, welcoming and bathed in the amber glow of a large brass chandelier on the ceiling.
The atmosphere here is considerably calmer and more welcoming than in the rest of the school. It smells of freshly brewed tea, old paper and polished brass. This is where all prospective students, envoys, and guests are received.
Here, players can get all the basic information about the academy. Accustomed to nervous applicants from all corners of the world, the receptionist possesses tremendous emotional intelligence – she can quickly read players to see which of the three lines would best suit their personalities, and she guides them with a confident and warm smile.
The Registry Quill: When a new student writes their name in the large guest book on the counter, the ink shimmers amber. The name is then magically registered in the academy’s central archives, and a small brass tag with the student’s name and temporary room number is automatically embossed from a mechanism under the counter.
The Welcome Aura: The room has a faint, embedded magic that quells nervousness and travel fever, making new arrivals immediately feel safe and ready for their new chapter in life.
@Madame Beatrice is the face of @The Crossroads Academy and works at the @The Academy's reception. She is warm, patient and has a motherly heart for all the students (she has seen generations of them come and go). She is incredibly street smart and knows exactly what is going on at the school, if a teacher is in a bad mood, or if two groups of students have been fighting in the courtyard, Beatrice is the first to know.
When new people arrive, it is Beatrice who hands over the brochures, explains the differences between the Guard, Magic and Diplomatic groups, and helps them fill out their application papers. It's also fine to come in as a visitor and look around before applying. If you're nice to her, she can give you invaluable tips.
