The Council Room

The Council Room is an austere, historic, yet very comfortable room. The walls are clad in dark, polished cedar that smells faintly of wood oil, dried tea, and old parchment. Along one wall, large, pointed windows of smoked glass bathe the room in a soft amber light in the afternoons.

In the center of the room stands a long, rectangular conference table of solid oak, flanked by high chairs with cushions in the neutral gray of the academy. Along the walls, each professor has his own small work area or desk – the magic professor’s corner is cluttered with floating crystals and half-finished chronomantic formulas, while the guard instructor’s desk is strictly organized with tactical reports and heavy brass weights to keep papers in order. A soothing fire always crackles in a large brick fireplace, and next to it stands a large brass samovar that constantly boils strong, spiced fey coffee.

🧠 Atmosphere & Fragile Collegiality

The atmosphere in the staff room is a fascinating mix of academic professionalism and subtle regional pride. It is here that teachers grade papers, drink their morning coffee, and discuss students’ progress – or disciplinary problems.

Here, the teachers’ own wills and prejudices are put to the test. A strict chronomancer from the citadel may grumble that the forest druid has brought earthy roots into the room, while a guard captain from the tundra loudly complains that the Diplomatic School students have too soft pinches. But despite their differences, the teaching staff possesses enormous emotional intelligence and a shared respect for the Fragile Golden Agreement. They know that if they cannot get along in their own room, the school outside will fall apart.

⏳ Teachers' Room Logistics & Discipline

To keep both students and magical logistics in order, the room is equipped with special tools:

The Demerit Board (Level 1 Magic): A magical, dark wooden board hangs on one of the walls. When a teacher gives a student an official warning or detention anywhere on campus, the student's name on the board automatically lights up in the color of their faculty (red, blue, or green). This allows all teachers to immediately see who has caused trouble during the day.

The Seal of Silence (Level 2 Magic): To give teachers peace of mind during their most intense marking periods, the room is shielded so that none of the loud noises from Ironhall or the constant flapping of The Post Chamber can be heard in here. It is an absolute sanctuary of academic silence.

🎭 Adventure Hooks in The Council Room

The Lost Grade: A desperate student from The Arcanum asks the players for a huge favor. He accidentally rewound time on his latest magic exam, causing the text to disappear, and the professor has now placed a failing grade in his personal slot in The Council Room. The student needs the players' street smarts to create a distraction in the hallway so he can sneak in, retrieve the document, and retake the exam before it is officially recorded on the Marks Board.

The Dormitory Crisis: A heated argument has broken out in the staff room between the duty instructor and the magic professor regarding a time disturbance that occurred during a class. They refuse to speak to each other, and the entire school has begun to notice the tense atmosphere (classes are canceled and the guards are extra strict). The principal secretly asks the players to act as discreet mediators and use their emotional intelligence to resolve the dispute between the two bully teachers before it ends in a pure battle for prestige.
