Crystal Chalice
The Crystal Chalice The Crystal Chalice is a large, winding goblet weighing about 10 pounds. Atop its winding form resides a shard of Great Crystal that offers protection to those within its immediate area. In its center, a rounded channel binds any collected myrrh the crystal caravan harvests to the chalice. Only a Crystal Chalice can be used to transport myrrh due to the Chalice’s power enchantments combined with its crystal shard. A Crystal Chalice is an extremely rare and ancient artifact, dating back to the earliest settlements. Replacing a chalice is not possible, leaving caravanners who have their chalice lost or destroyed in a dire situation. A Crystal Chalice has 50 hit points, an Armor Class of 10, and resistance to all damage. It regains all of its hit points upon successfully delivering three drops of myrrh to a Great Crystal. Due to the crystal shard’s protective aura, any creature within a 60 foot radius of a Crystal Chalice is unaffected by environmental miasma. Additionally, a Crystal Chalice’s enchantments allow the crystal shard to hold an elemental charge. This elemental charge protects those within from attacks of the same element. The following are the four types of elemental charges and their effects. Fire Element: All creatures within the Chalice’s radius have resistance to fire damage. Water Element: All creatures within the Chalice’s radius have resistance to ice damage. Wind Element: All creatures within the Chalice’s radius have resistance to lightning and thunder damage. Earth Element: All creatures within the Chalice’s radius have resistance to poison damage and geomancy magic. A Chalice may change its elemental charge via an elemental hotspot found in the wilderness. Elemental hotspots are the culmination of an area’s passive energies that a Chalice can absorb and utilize. For instance, a volcano may have hotspots of the fire element while a mountaintop may have hotspots of the wind element or an earth hotspot.
