Ratfrost

Ratfrost — “The Burrowed Heart”

Symbol: A coiled rat clutching a gear.
Motto: “From filth, we endure.”
Core Belief: Survival through adaptation and cunning.
Society Type: Underground industrial hive.
Currency: Scrap Scrip — recycled metals traded for warmth and food.

Lore:
Ratfrost was founded by scavengers who tunneled beneath the ice to escape the howling storms. While other cities built skyward spires, Ratfrost dug inward — a labyrinth of rusted tunnels, steam vents, and black markets.
Its people, called Burrowers, are masters of reclamation: they recycle dead machines, salvage lost generator parts, and sell heat to anyone desperate enough to venture below.
They believe the surface world is cursed — that warmth must be earned from the bones of the old world.
Ratfrost’s ruler, The Rust Regent, claims the generator is alive — that it hungers, and must be fed tribute of scrap and ash.
The city’s motto isn’t pride — it’s a warning.
