Kepeshkemet, Ancient One of Farming and Fertility, drifted into Gnossienne and became trapped there following The First Shift, bound to the city yet remaining a source of life and power. His followers, The Virēre, who established one of the first settlements that eventually became Gnossienne, sought to propitiate him for good harvests while searching for a way to release him, though some feared or desired to keep him imprisoned. After The Second Shift, part of the cult splintered, betraying their brethren to join another faction; they bound Kepeshkemet, harvesting his blood to sell and to fertilize their crops. While effective, this corrupted use of his essence occasionally produced horrific results, creating monstrous mutations in both plants and those who consumed them. The splintered cultists themselves were either killed or transformed into plant based mutants, some of whom preserved Kepeshkemet to propagate more of their kind. Today, only a small, devoted remnant of the Virēre remain, attempting to free him from his confinement. Kepeshkemet’s form is a striking: an uncanny hybrid of a brown bull and a frog, his body shaded in various greens fading to brown below, the green dotted with occasional small orange spots, his eyes a vivid reddish-orange with horizontal slits like a frogs. He bears two sets of curved black horns, two tails, and an extra set of arms emerging from his shoulders above his front legs, a living emblem of fertility and the unpredictable power of life itself.
