Myrkviðr, Ancient One of the Forest

Myrkviðr, an Ancient One of the Forest, exists as a guardian of nature who has been partially corrupted by a malevolent force within the nexus of Gnossienne. Though he maintains enough control to prevent the corruption from fully overtaking him, his body, personality, and outlook have shifted, now more aggressive, volatile and prone to rants about nature reclaiming the world. Those lost in the forest may pray to him for guidance, sometimes he or a spirit answers, but such interventions can be dangerous, with a fifty percent chance ending in death or disappearance. His devoted cult, The Endurtaka, views modernization as a blight on the natural order, though they accept purely mechanical tools that cause no pollution, and seek to reclaim the city, reducing dependence on technology and chemicals. They are fiercely hostile toward litterers, polluters and those carrying toxic substances. Some cultists have taken the blood of Kepeshkemet, using it either to create plant-based monstrosities or to transform themselves into plant-like creatures, blurring the line between human, plant and forest spirit. Myrkviðr’s form is as striking as it is terrifying: a humanoid body of twisted flesh and bark fused with vines and branches, hands and claws a grotesque hybrid of wood and bone. His head resembles a wolf skull crowned with deer antlers, eyes glowing a vivid orange, exuding both predatory menace and otherworldly power. Corrupted yet commanding, Myrkviðr embodies the forest’s wrath, its unpredictability, and its slow, relentless claim over all who intrude.
