Tzara’oth, The Transcender, as he calls himself, is an Outer God and one of the first of his kind to arrive in the area that became Gnossienne, claiming to be “from beyond the stars, yet so close to here.” Drawn by the areas unique nexus of converging planes, he became trapped after The First Shift, though he shows little concern for his confinement, having already set his focus on using the nexus as the perfect catalyst for his designs. His goal is to corrupt, reshape and “transcend” all living things on The Physical Plane, transforming them into something alien and unrecognizable, remaking reality itself into a form that aligns with his incomprehensible vision. While immensely powerful, his influence is somewhat limited within the nexus, forcing him to work through gradual expansion and devoted followers. He eagerly accepts sacrifices, consuming humans brought to him with disturbing ease, devouring them simultaneously with both of his mouths. In return for their devotion, he mutates and reshapes his followers, sometimes granting them power as part of their transformation. These followers, along with those he has altered but left sapient, are known as The Diffingeren, a cult that was among the first to form one and establish one of its original settlements. For generations, they concealed their true intentions, playing a key role in the city’s development, expansion, and eventual modernization, all to prepare for what they call “The Great Transcendence,” a plan to use the nexus to spread Tzara’oth’s corrupting influence across the world. His presence has already manifested in the form of alien monstrosities and reshaped humans, pale, often featureless beings with unnatural mouths filled with teeth or grotesque amalgamations of mismatched body parts. Tzara’oth himself appears as a bald, humanoid figure with blotchy, amphibious skin of a sickly pale blue, nearly white, his head largely featureless aside from a wide, lipless mouth filled with large, jagged teeth. He possesses two green, squid-like eyes positioned at both the front and back of his head, while a single large green eye with a vertically slitted pupil sits embedded in the center of his chest. His stomach forms a second gaping mouth lined with rows of sharp teeth, and from his back extend two sharp insectoid appendages alongside four large, writhing tendrils. Everything about him radiates alien purpose and quiet inevitability, as if his very existence is slowly rewriting the world into something else entirely.
