Elysium
The Outer Planes: The Infinite Fields of Elysium
"Heaven builds walls to protect the good within. We teach the good to be so strong, so free, and so full of light that no wall is ever necessary."
-An Archon of the Whispering Constellation
Overview & Philosophy Elysium is the ultimate haven of freedom and chaotic good. It is not a single location, but an infinite, untamed wilderness of cosmic beauty. It is an endless expanse of idyllic, life-filled star systems, floating continents covered in lush, alien forests, and serene nebulae of gentle, warm light. Guided by the loose fellowship of the Whispering Constellation, Elysium's philosophy is that true good comes from individual liberty, compassion, and the freedom to find one's own path. It is the "Great Bloom" in its most perfect, idealized form.
The Nature of the Afterlife: A Final, Joyous Adventure Souls of the chaotic and neutral good who arrive in Elysium are granted perfect freedom. There is no assigned task or grand design. They are free to explore the infinite, breathtaking landscapes of the plane, to create art, to rest by a river of starlight, or to join other souls in building small, peaceful communities. The afterlife in Elysium is a final, joyous adventure, a realm of peace and liberty where every soul can pursue its own happiness.
The Infinite Fields (The Layers) Elysium has no formal layers. It is a boundless expanse of natural, cosmic wonder. Travelers can wander freely between its most famous regions:
The Verdant Sea: A vast nebula where new life is born, home to the gardens of The Verdant Mother.
The Wandering Stars: A constellation of habitable, paradise-like worlds, the favored domain of The Wanderer.
The River Oceanus: A literal, shimmering river of silvery starlight and positive energy that flows between the planes, connecting the different regions of Elysium.
Key Deities & Inhabitants Elysium is guided by the Whispering Constellation, whose key members include The Wanderer, The Verdant Mother, and The Muse. The native celestials, known as Archons, are beings of pure life-force and freedom. They often take the form of majestic, starlight-infused beasts, graceful fey-like humanoids, or other beings of wild, natural beauty, acting as guardians and guides to souls who need them.
