Graz'zt

"War is so clumsy. Tyranny, so brutish. Why conquer the body when, with a little persuasion, you can own the soul completely?"

  • Title: The Dark Prince, The Lord of the Gilded Star, The Master of Six Fingers

  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil

  • Portfolio: Seduction, Hedonism, Decadence, Narcissism, Excess

  • Domain: Zelatar, The Gilded Cage (Layer of the Abyss)

  • Worshippers: Decadent nobles, jaded celebrities, corrupt artists, and anyone who has grown bored with simple morality and wishes to explore the furthest frontiers of pleasure and sensation.

Doctrine & Philosophy Graz'zt is the most insidious of the Demon Lords, for he appears as a friend, a lover, and a liberator. He teaches that the self is the only true god, that pleasure is the only true goal, and that all laws, morals, and attachments are merely chains to be cast aside. He destroys societies not with fire and steel, but with the sweet poison of unchecked indulgence. He finds a culture's secret desires and darkest appetites and gives them exactly what they want, until they rot from the inside out, becoming a decadent, beautiful ruin.

Appearance & Manifestations Graz'zt is a being of stunning, supernatural beauty. He typically appears as a handsome, dark-skinned humanoid of athletic build, always dressed in the height of fashion. The only hints to his demonic nature are his six fingers on each hand and his subtly pointed ears. He is a master of charm and wit, a social chameleon who can find his way into any circle, from the highest courts of power to the most exclusive back-room pleasure dens.

Plots & Goals in the Age of Challenge Graz'zt thrives in wealthy, stable societies with a dark, bored underbelly. The current age is ripe for his brand of corruption.

  • The Syndicate's Rot: His influence is strongest in the opulent core worlds of the Syndicate of Mercane, with exclusive venues like The Zenith Club on the Gilded Chain often serving as unwitting gateways to his cults. These cults are disguised as exclusive clubs, art galleries, and secret societies where the rich and powerful can indulge their darkest fantasies, all while slowly falling under his sway.

  • Corrupting the Virtuous: His greatest pleasure is finding a truly virtuous hero and carefully dismantling their morality. He sees the rigid duty of a Paladin sworn to The Sentinel or the communal spirit of a follower of The Forge-Mother not as virtues, but as challenges—beautiful, structured things to be lovingly dismantled through temptation and self-doubt.

  • The Saiyan Temptation: Graz'zt finds the Saiyans fascinating. He sees their immense pride and endless appetites as a magnificent instrument to play. He would never challenge a Saiyan to a physical duel. Instead, he would try to ensnare one with luxury: a feast that never ends, an arena of adoring fans and weak opponents, and the worship of an entire planet. His ultimate ambition would be to ensnare Kaleerus herself, believing that to dull the spirit of a God of Destruction with pleasure would be his magnum opus, the final proof that desire is the strongest force in any reality.
