Saiyans
@Saiyans
Core Concept: A refugee from a dead reality, born with the potential for god-like power and an innate, all-consuming drive to find a challenge worthy of it.
History & Culture: Every Saiyan in this universe is a survivor, or the descendant of one. They are a people without a history, their ancestral home and entire native reality having been utterly erased. Their new culture, forged in the brutal environment of their granted world, @Salas, the Shattered Bastion, is one of fierce pride, relentless ambition, and spartan functionality. They are a meritocracy in its purest form: strength is the only measure of worth. From childhood, a Saiyan is taught to fight, to push their limits, and to view every challenge as an opportunity to grow. To be weak is to be worthless; to be strong is to have purpose.
Place in the Universe: To the rest of the galaxy, a Saiyan is a walking paradox. They are living weapons of mass destruction, capable of leveling cities, yet they are also a displaced people, cosmic refugees clinging to their new home. They are met with a mixture of terror, awe, prejudice, and opportunity. A single Saiyan walking into a spaceport cantina can silence the room. @The Stellar Imperium of Sol views them as unregistered WMDs, @The Veridian Concordance sees them as a beautiful but terrifying force of nature, and @The Syndicate of Mercane views them as the ultimate mercenary asset.
Adventurers: A Saiyan adventurer is a rare breed, having chosen to leave the rigid, competitive society of Salas for the wider universe. Their motivations are often powerful and direct:
The Challenger: The most common path. They have left home on a pilgrimage to test their might against the legends of this new reality, from colossal beasts to fabled warriors.
The Exile: They may have been cast out for showing what Saiyan society deems "weakness"—such as mercy or compassion—or for defying a powerful commander. They now seek a new purpose or a new "clan" to call their own.
The Mercenary: Some Saiyans see their immense power as the ultimate commodity. They sell their skills to the highest bidder, earning a fortune while satisfying their lust for battle.
The Seeker: A rare few are driven by more than the desire to fight. They are fascinated by the strange new rules of this reality—magic, new technologies, different philosophies—and travel the stars to learn and experience things beyond the singular focus of their people.
