Salas
@Salas, the Shattered Bastion
"Do not go to Salas seeking wealth, for it has none. Do not go seeking comfort, for it is a stranger there. Go only if you wish to be tested. Go if you wish to discover the absolute limit of your strength, and then be shattered against it. The planet is a forge, and it makes only two things: masters and corpses." -Report from an Imperial Scout, Adamantine Eye
Overview & Environment
Salas is the new homeworld of the @Saiyan people, a planet that has already endured one apocalypse and is now being forged into the ultimate training ground. From orbit, it is a jagged, angry-looking world of red-brown earth and glittering crystal canyons. Two shattered, rocky rings—the remains of its moons, destroyed in a forgotten divine war—circle the planet.
On the surface, the environment is brutal and unforgiving:
High Gravity: The planet's gravity is roughly one and a half times the galactic standard. Unacclimated visitors find their movements sluggish and taxing, imposing penalties on physical checks and reducing speed until they can adapt.
Shattered Terrain: The landscape is a chaotic maze of floating continents, sheer cliffs, deep ravines, and glass deserts created by ancient battles. Travel is treacherous and almost always requires flight or specialized climbing gear.
The Red Sky: A weak, distant red sun casts the world in a perpetual, blood-red twilight, making shadows long and deep.
Key Locations
@The Iron Primate (Orbital Command): @Kaleerus's colossal flagship remains in a fixed, geosynchronous orbit, a black, menacing star in the sky. It is the ultimate seat of power, a fortress capable of glassing the planet's surface ten times over. Docking is by direct invitation only, a summons that is considered both a terrifying honour and a potential death sentence.
@Kakarot's Pride (The Capital): The only major settlement on Salas is less a city and more a sprawling, spartan military encampment. The architecture is brutally functional—dense, metallic blocks built for durability, connected by fortified causeways. The air constantly hums with the thrum of Ki, and the sound of distant energy blasts is as common as birdsong on other worlds.
The Crucible: The cultural and spiritual heart of Salas. The Crucible is not a single building but an immense, naturally-formed canyon at the centre of Kakarot's Pride. Its floor is a warren of arenas, training grounds, and monster pens. Day and night, it is home to brutal sparring matches, gladiatorial combat, and tests of strength. High-ranking Saiyans watch from perches carved into the canyon walls, while Syndicate agents run clandestine betting rings on the outcomes.
@Vokka's Forge: A heavily fortified, isolated complex carved into the side of a massive mountain. This is the laboratory and fortress of Archon Vokka. The Forge constantly emits strange energy signatures as Vokka and his acolytes conduct dangerous experiments, attempting to fuse Saiyan Ki with arcane magic and reverse-engineer divine artifacts. It is the most technologically advanced—and arguably most dangerous—place on Salas.
@Zukini's Perch: Located on a remote, windswept floating continent, this towering natural spire is the unofficial base of operations for the Outriders. It is a place of raucous feasts, trophies from legendary hunts, and the planning of new expeditions. Of all the locations on Salas, this is the most "welcoming" to outsiders, especially those who come seeking a challenge, a contract, or a worthy drinking companion.
Flora & Fauna: The Native Challengers
The native life of Salas survived a divine war and evolved in a high-gravity, magically-scarred environment. They are incredibly tough and aggressive, making them the perfect training fodder for the Saiyans.
Thran Lizards: Armoured, silicon-based predators with crystalline shells that are highly resistant to energy attacks.
Gravity Grazers: Colossal, six-legged beasts that float serenely between the continents. They are a primary food source, but hunting one requires immense agility and power to bring down.
Canyon Screamers: Vicious, pterodactyl-like creatures that hunt in packs, using disorienting sonic shrieks to disable their prey before swarming them.
Adventure Hooks: Reasons to Visit
An Honourable Invitation: An adventurer with a sufficiently high reputation for their fighting prowess receives a formal challenge from one of @Mistress Zukini's Outriders. They are invited to Salas to face the Saiyan in The Crucible, with honour, glory, and a unique reward on the line.
The Impossible Heist: The Stellar Imperium wants @Archon Vokka's data on Ki-infusion. They hire the party for a black-ops mission: infiltrate the impenetrable Vokka's Forge, bypass its guards and strange experiments, and steal the research.
The Beast Hunt: Mistress Zukini has a contract. A legendary creature she wishes to fight has a natural immunity to Ki-based attacks. She needs a team of specialists (mages, tech experts, etc.) to help her track, weaken, and corner the beast so she can face it in glorious melee combat. She's paying well.
